Laura looks to be giving Cuba and Jamaica all the rain they can possibly handle before it heads back over the open waters into the GOM to strengthen into what looks to be a Weak Cat 3 or a really strong Cat 2 storm. Headed right for the Louisiana Coast.

It looks like the models are starting to hone in that it's going to be anywhere from Vermillion Bay to Lake Charles. I'll look for that easterly jog right before landfall. But where ever it goes, stay safe.

Laura really looking like a serious threat for western Louisiana.

Marco, however is getting torn apart. All of the upper level weather (rain) is getting sheared off and heading east while the low (Wind) is moving west.
For Louisiana, Marco is likely to be a dry low with all the rain spread out east over miss-ala-fla.
I never seen anything like that

He is supposed to be moving NW. But all the rain is getting sheared NE.

I’m hoping we don’t get any surge. At this point I’m feeling good about Marco.

That bitch Laura though...

The good news is hopefully not many people will lose power from Marco and not get it restored until after Laura.

Euro and GFS back in general agreement for early Thursday landfall with GFS lagging 6 hours. WWL's meteorologist strongly disagreed last night with the NHC shift east at the 2200 local update. Looks like he was right.

Good news for Nola not good for our friends in SWLA and SETX.

I'll be interested in learning why the Euro bounced so much east to west yesterday.

How much rain is Marco bringing? Do we even feel any affect of him in BR?

Nothing crazy. Marco is a bust. Levi Cowan nailed this. TWC and local news screwed the pooch.

Considering all his rain is off to the northeast (well away from COC, probably not until tomorrow.

They keep mentioning it’s been the “wettest July on record here.” Well today is August 24th and I cut my grass yesterday and the ground was hard as frick and it’s rained 2 or 3 times in August so that is irrelevant. Just trying to create drama, it’s actually kind of sad on their part.

Define out of the woods. Storms can be 200 to 300 miles wide and you don't want to be blasted on the East side of it.

If track doesn't change (which it probably will again before she pops out into the GOM) and she winds up a cat 3, we'll probably have topical storm weather in br. So.. not under the gun, but not totally out of the woods.
