Is your dog sending out an SOS by blinking his eyes?

I can fully understand if he is

Just fyi for people in here Entergy said they're not flipping your lights on until Thursday if they go out tomorrow. This is of course factoring in the extent of the damage. You have trees on your line you're fricked or obviously high winds where they can't just go out to flip a branch off your line with a stick since they can't work in higher winds. They also have new covid-19 procedure that will make their response slower.

What city is this?

Heard many stories from old timers from Cameron Parish that went through Audrey, truly horrific.

Yes it did. Driving from abbeville to Mississippi after Katrina and Rita was depressing but impressive. Just stumps of pine trees for hundreds of miles and that was just along I-10

Anything over a 2 within 75 miles is a no go for me.

“The waiting is the hardest part...”.

Surge is my biggest concern right now.

This going to be a shite pile of rain for everyone off to right of the center. BR and Lafayette to lake Charles could be getting absolutely soaked in the week

Katrina was bad. A very small percentage of New Orleans people were worse, but mouth breathers love talk about it.

My comment is just asking how many people in this thread have actually ridden out a hurricane and where did they do it?

Not replying snarkily. Just fun in a weird way to remember.

Was 13 in new Iberia for Andrew. 1992 or 93? It was first week of school. Rode it out at dauterive’s hospital. when some of the windows started breaking we went into the morgue. I’ll admit i was really scared. The sound of the wind was unnerving. It wasn’t like the sound of wind from canes I’ve been in since. It was unnerving. But Going outside as the eye passed was amazing. We didn’t have power for a looooong time and it was HOT.

Gustav was pretty destructive in Baton Rouge - considering how far offshore Baton Rouge was. Can’t remember the year. 2008??

Was in Lafayette for Katrina. It wasn’t too bad there

Other than those, there have been lots of Louisiana cat 1’s but they weren’t very memorable.
