Despite the lower trajectory from Cuba, the HWRF is in the exact same spot as the last run. It will not be going westward

Not saying he is wrong but Larry Cosgrove is based out of Houston. Wishcasting is a very real thing and he may want the viewers and ratings.

Never got that vibe from him whatsoever. He doesn’t charge for his information.

The HMON is coming back to the right on this run as well.

HWRF isn't as aggressive either on strength (though still gonna be a Cat 3 by landfall) and a little left of the last run. Nice to finally have the models coming closer together, even if the GFS is still drifting west. Guess I'm going to stay up and watch the Euro roll in...

brah I don't know what you do in the weather world but maybe this is why the weathermen can't report the weather going on outside our windows these days

Where does HMON and HWRF make landfall? I saw one image of HMON and it appears to be SWLA? Which is another shift east. What about. HWRF? Haven’t seen much on that.

HMON is SWLA.

Again folks, don't freak too much at the pressure yet. It's just telling us conditions are favorable for strengthening across the Gulf.

HWRF is stuck at 70something hours, but figure it's going to end up more central LA but west of the last run.

Starting to narrow our focus to between the mouth of the Mississippi and Galveston with all these runs tonight.

If it ends up that far west, yes it would be.

I'm very ill informed, is this a new track saying it'll hit far west?

drops the pressure like 30 mb in the last 18 hours before landfall

ETA: use the HWRF for location... not intensity (at least not right now)

No. These are computer models the forecasters use to make the track predictions. If you don't know much about them, follow the NHC paths shown in the first post of the thread.

All this stuff is suggesting the eventual path may be farther west than currently predicted but it's subject to change. Right now, between the Mouth of the Mississippi and Galveston Island look like potential targets.

We won't be more certain until Monday most likely.

I will say, it has never really wavered on intensity for 3 days now. Kind of impressive.

The only thing in a model run that should matter to a layman is trends. You don't have to know the particulars to watch for trends from run-to-run.

Are you thinking it will continue on a Westerly track?

Huge sigh of (temporary) relief when I saw you post that

Not sure why I’m so stressed out about these storms. Been through it before
