looking at the flight pattern of the plane in Laura

I'm intrigued by the couple of circles that the plane did to drop dropsondes #s 5 & 6

looking at the info from those drops... I would guess that was the plane looking for a low level center fix... though neither drop is identified as the "eye"

Trying to locate a center on either of these systems would be like driving around with a woman who is hungry but has no idea what she wants to eat. Just fly aimlessly and hope you find something interesting.

Those folks will be using every bit of knowledge and equipment they have on board when in these two storms.

The strongest quadrant would still be the NE quadrant - even if the Western side of the storm was hitting the East coast of FL.

If the storm was heading due west into the eastern coast of FL, the strongest side would be the NW.

I'm not sure that's actually super impressive. Still think we have a sloppy big center going on here. That being said, the focus of convection being on the south side has my attention.

Yeah it’s all relative. She’s been a mess prior to this.

Will I be able to drive from Beaumont to Jackson MS monday evening without any issues.

I'd be more afraid of being in Jackson than a hurricane.

Leave a day early and avoid both.

Exactly. Don’t clog up roads because you have somewhere to be? You don’t even have to be near it go north to Tennessee and get settled and then eat the rain there

Okay.

You’re wrong. It’s scientific.

Why do you think it’s written as right front quadrant and not just a blanket NE??

the convective bursts on the south side of Hispaniola... can that be read as a good news/bad news situation?

bad news part is the obvious... storm is offshore and could be getting stronger

good news... for SELA at least... if I remember what Levi said correctly... the storm coming together on the south side of the islands would be liable to stay under the high pressure system for longer and thus push a potential landfall to possibly Texas

That south side better start pushing north & east or else it looks to hook around the western part of Cuba, which will be really bad.

Marco is looking like a fullback, and Laura is the halfback with a clear lane to the end zone.
