I still remember the Harvey prediction where he said it would slam mexico and never make it to Texas.

From an intuitive approach I'm just having difficultly seeing were the energy is coming from especially for Laura.
The energy is from the water. Marco is small and going to be fighting shear. Won't pull much heat out.
So warm gulf waters and upper air conditions supportive of strengthening will be what Laura is working with.

the Euro only runs at 00z & 12z
so where are you seeing an 18z Euro?

There is a limited Euro run at 6z/18z. It only goes out 90 hours I think.

How bad is it going to get in Lafayette? I am supposed to be moved into my new house next weekend, but we still have a few things that need to get done. Any chance they will be able to work Monday and Tuesday?

Idk, two storms like 2-4 weeks apart would someways be worse. Imagine power lines torn down, everything fixed over couple weeks and then all torn down again.

Track of both storms is subject to change, so no one can answer that question with certainty.

If Marco follows its current forecast track, hurricane or tropical storm conditions will likely exist for Lafayette through Tuesday. Then Laura should arrive Wednesday afternoon (again, assuming the current forecast track plays out).

#Marco has leveled off since its period of rapid intensification this morning, with new recon plane finding a pressure of 994-995mb after dropsonde wind adjustment. Fortunately, Marco should struggle with shear on its approach to the gulf coast, but a Hurricane Watch is in effect
