This has to be a true anomaly in terms of two low pressure systems this close to each other. It doesn't makes sense. In order to have a low presser you have to have an equal and opposite high pressure. These two low pressures must be separated by a tight high pressure gradient.

The fact that we have two low pressure systems that will land as cat 1 hurricanes may be a blessing in disguise. All that energy being dissipated in a more dispersed fashion than concentrated into one cat 4-5 storm that would crush the Louisiana coast.

Two cat ones, one after the other will cause damage but not as much damage as one massive cat 4-5.

I mean the idea would be yes but we literally have no idea what’s going to happen because nothing like this has ever happened before. I feel like the main threat would be rain but there’s no way of knowing
