All or most of the casinos will have a sportsbook area dedicated specifically to watching/betting on sports.

Not emotional. I'd do it like routine. I don't gamble at all.
I'd like to just walk in and place $20 bet on LSU, drink a beer and shot, and go home.

We already have bookies, don't really need the casino.

Are they opening a separate space for it? I don’t gamble much but putting a couple bucks on a big fight and watching it in on big screens in a dedicated bar is pretty dam fun lol

I think I read that there will be temporary areas, but they will eventually have an area with TVs, etc..

Yesterday on DraftKings I received a promo for their betting app where if you are already signed up with them they will give you a free $100 bet.

And I know Caesars has a promo that if you are in Louisiana and sign up and make a deposit you will get something similar. So they they are all getting ready as if its going to be soon, but when it involves Louisiana politics things don't usually go as smooth as expected.

I miss those days of calling my connected guy in Chalmette for the lines.

Ah, the good ole days.

I downloaded the Caesars app a few days ago and saw that promo as well. I'm with you, I think all of them will be prepared for it soon but the Louisiana legislatures will end up making it a longer process than it should be.

This! I NEVER bet on LSU, Saints or Pelicans. Astros are my favorite MLB team and I only bet MLB in postseason, but I am not passionate about the Astros so I bet against them if I think they are going to lose and vice versa.

Oh and don't bet on teams you don't like. For me that team is Notre Dame (although this year I included them in a 3 team parlay and they actually covered as well as the other 2 teams).

Another thing to avoid is getting caught up in all the other bets. There are so many things to bet on. Like the line or O/U by quarter or at the half or any type of prop bets (except for the SB but that's just having fun with it).

And don't ever try to make up for your losses on a single game. People do this with MNF a lot. They lose big on the weekend and then try to at least break even with a bet on MNF.. If you lose that then you are down even bigger.. if you win, you break even.. Take your losses and then spread it out the next weekend. And don't bet on sports you don't know much about.

Hopefully they'll take college baseball bets too. Make my bets on the Way to the Box.

You won’t see any college baseball lines until post season, even then I’m not sure if the casinos carry regionals/supers

The name of the game when it comes to the arms race of getting people to sign up is all about first time users. Most people don’t bounce around between books especially as you have to deposit money into them to gamble.

Horseshoe is the only Bossier location? Thought for sure Margaritaville would've been added.

Mobile sports betting won't be available for a couple of months. Harrah's in New Orleans will be open on Sunday.

Not true. Caesars owns Harrahs and they have an app. The app is already in use for residents of other states. LA residents can create an account right now and begin betting on the app as soon as Monday

Have fun making a 12-team $5 parlay while waiting 2.5 hours in line. Or at least the person in front of you will be doing so.

Did You know that betting each game individually and then rolling over to the game would yield a higher return?

The advocate article today said itd be months before anyone can bet online so state police can run background checks and make sure people in Bible thumper parishes that voted no can't bet.

I saw where the app is available but where are you seeing Monday? The app itself doesn’t even have a date, it just says soon
