That will probably make things a lot more difficult for the Ukrainians. It’s nice when your drones just have to scan roads looking for bunched up targets. Scanning thousands of square miles of fields and forests looking for tanks is a whole new ball game no matter how good your equipment is.

Except that Russia has lost in between 600-1200 tanks already. It is replacing them by pulling cold-war era and unmodernized T72 out of storage. The Ukrainians on the other hand have equalized the number of tanks in the warzone since it has captured over 300 Russian tanks. The tanks that Ukraine has captured are Russia's modernized T72s, and Ukraine's tank reserves are made up of T64s instead of T72s and the T64 is a better tank than the T72. Plus Ukraine has mounted its own ATGM Skif missile as well as NATO ATGM on hundreds of "battle buggies" that are highly maneuverable and fast and that can fire on the run. Plus they have night vision.

Looks like a normal setup for folks with a hog problem. If Russia was hunting pigs this might be effective.

Edit nevermind. I thought that was Russia's tank reserves. Hahaha. I was like dam they getting desperate. Those off-road buggies be fun as shite.

I know that, but Ukraine is a big country and our assets can only cover so much ground at a time and the Ukrainians only have so many artillery pieces and guided munitions that must be spread out to cover a very large area. This isn’t a video game, it’s actually very hard to do this shite.

For instance, the US has probably spent 10’s of millions of dollars, if not more, looking for the American nun that was kidnapped in West Africa 6 weeks ago and we still haven’t found her.

All I said is that it would be more difficult to target Russian formations when they spread out dude.

Ukraine being a big country works to their advantage tho... Especially with how they have been able to blow up their supply lines. Russia bout to be fooked. Bunch of Ukes about to graduate from Russian killing school and be on the front lines doing what they been training to do. These dudes ready to go to work... Meanwhile Russians gonna be ready to go home.

That is assuming that they do spread out. The dumbasses tried to build a pontoon bridge across a river in the same spot three seperate times last week. Plus there were videos of Russian tanks being ambushed last week (when the ground was dry and they could have gone off road) and they just sat there. The Russian forces are too poorly trained to carry out effective combined arms attack. If the Russian tankers ever figure out to spread out they will not have the mechanized infantry to protect them from soldiers or fast vehicles with ATGMs. All the Ukrainian soldiers will have to do is lie still in the tall grass until the Russians get within ATGM range. Then shoot and scoot.

Considering Russia’s performance in the logistics department so far, that is a very valid point.

I realize that in today’s world, people have the attention span of a gnat, but this conflict and all the issues that arise from it is a big deal. Bigger than Covid.

I support this thread be re-stickied.

Yes they do. It's going to suck for the Russian tankers who get taken out by them though. They will have to go the rest of their lives being shite on by others because their tank was destroyed by a freaking Polaris Ranger knock off.

Very true but they are capturing more Russian equipment and ammunition on a daily basis.

Russia has to do it too if they spread out. Plus their direct GLOC from Belgorod is now in Ukrainian artillery range and Russia will have to detour hundreds of km to get their supplies from Belgorod to the front using the other GLOC which were already at capacity. I highly doubt that the Russian logistics can keep up. So if the Russians spread out then their logistics become even worse. They might just let the tanks advance then use their TB2s to take out the fuel trucks then capture the tanks when they run out of gas.

You act like this shite is easy for the Ukrainians man. It’s not, it’s really fricking hard. Nobody is just laying in the grass with their iPad to kill tanks and “shoot and scoot.” Lots of Ukrainians are dying along with the Russians. I’m fact, I’d be surprised if even a majority of the Russian casualties have been caused by western supplied weapons. Most of this fight has been a slugfest on the ground and the only part you see is Twitter videos of drone and javelin strikes. I’m as happy as anyone about the Ukrainian successes but the fight isn’t even close to over and a lot more Ukrainian soldiers and going die before it’s over.

I support the sticky too. It's as if the mods think this is a little pissing match between Sudan and Eritrea are Ina bow and arrow fight over the town of
Teseney and not an important topic that many on the OT care about and find interesting.

No shite sherlock but Ukraine has proven to be competent in the logistics the department and getting the most of their inferior force. Now that Ukraine has an equal number of tanks on the battlefield tanks to their captured Russian tanks and Ukraine has better tanks. For example, my former roommate turned down the option to "upgrade" from his Ukrainian modernized T-64 to either a captured Russian modernized T-72 or a captured Russian T80. Neither of the Russian tanks had a fire control system worth a f**k or night vision where his T-64 was modernized in 2019 and French made night vision and fire control systems. That is why the Ukrainian troops with ATGMs are taking out the Russian tanks during the day and Ukrainian tanks are hiding from the Russian Air Force. Per my roommate, he says most of the Russian Air Force lack night vision too so the Ukrainian tanks can move at night without worrying about air strikes. Most of the Ukrainian tanks also have western made night systems and they can hunt and destroy the Russian tanks at night. He said all but 2 of his tank's 14 tank to tank kills have come from creeping into range and shooting Russian tanks at night then hauling arse while the Russians pound the area where his tanks muzzle flash was last seen.

I was a groomsman (and the only non-Ukrainian groomsman) in my roommate's wedding in Kharkiv in 2019 and two of the other groomsman have already been killed. I have also heard that the girl I hooked up with at the wedding was raped and beaten by Russian soldiers and killed when the hospital she was taken to in Kharkiv was shelled during the end of March. So I am well aware of that fact.

My fear is Ukraine running out of fighting aged men. Russia, on the other hand, never runs out of warm bodies....
