a completely isolationist US just waiting on China to buy up enough countries in close proximity to complete their global takeover of US's current mantle.
So your solution to countering China’s rising power is to help Ukraine defeat Russia in Eastern Europe?

That’s a funny way of saying day 38 of Russia failing to make any advances. shite Russia is actively losing ground.

What I hope he meant was no BOG.
No what he meant was aid to NATO. Technically NATO as an organization hasn’t aided Ukraine in anyway. Individual countries that happen to be NATO member states have given aid unilaterally to Ukraine. NATO has been very careful to avoid the impression the alliance itself is not a part of the war.

Finland entertaining the idea of NATO membership is interesting. 97% of their energy needs are supplied by Russia. Meanwhile, OPEC and the Saudis are openly suggesting replacing the US dollar as the reserve trading currency….
While I agree you have a point about European reliance on Russian energy, Finland does not get 97% of their energy from Russian supplies. Russian energy makes up about 50% of their energy imports, but Finland is moving away from fossil fuels and replacing it with hydro and wind in addition to a decent base of nuclear power. Finland likely could keep the lights on, cars running is another story.

You clearly haven’t been on the PT in a while. China is ok now. Get with the times.

There are several Russian generals who might feel otherwise if they were still alive.

No,
I was replying to the poster who was praising an isolationist policy, thinking it was a way forward in the modern world. US supporting NATO at this point is really just about maintaining a dominant sphere of influence in the region.

I'm going to wait on OML to chime in on this before I form an opinion.

Yes, they're suddenly enamored of that grand alliance between India, Pakistan, China and Russia. This site has been infested with Russian bots lately, but they're really not needed. The poliboard regulars are doing just fine all by themselves.

There are a lot of countries in Europe that have no desire to get into a shooting war with Russia because of the energy market.

It’s actually 94% based on a study conducted last year. Either way, that’s the reason you’ve not seen direct military involvement similar to what we saw after Russia’s aggression in Syria.

Ukraine is an occupied state and both sides have suffered massive casualties. No one is “winning”.

An occupied state generally means the invader has control of the country. Russia controls very little of Ukraine.

Don't feed the animals. PT zoo left the gate open again.

Russia’s objective was to invade and occupy at which they’ve failed completely. So from that vantage point Russia is losing this war

I understand that people like you are incapable of critiquing the ongoing war in Ukraine in any objective way. Anyone who does is a Putin loving Russian bot according to you. That’s why you post in this thread.

Yeah, but it only took 30000+ casualties and self-destruction of their own economy to take control of Kherson (for now) and the rubble that was Mariupol.
Great success!

If human cost is the measure then the Allies never won any world wars. The outcomes matter. Russia is failing miserably at the moment. That doesn’t mean what Ukraine has experienced is great success. Not at all
