For the serious though, I’ve got a buddy in Moscow right now, he’s saying that about 50% believe Russia is doing the right thing and support the war.
One of the only encouraging things out of this is the blowback Putin is getting at home. I'm not saying it is universal, but it is at a greater scale than we've really ever seen in our lifetimes. Shame that it will be squandered if Russia winds up alienated for another couple generations.

Meh. I still think the sanctions will be lifted a few months after Russia finally wins the war. We’ll make a show of supporting whatever insurgency pops up for a few months and then abandon them.

So I was thinking, remember when we heard about the Russian soldiers on the border before the war trying to hook up with Ukrainian chicks on Tinder? How many of those sympathizing sluts have gone through with it? And will they get their heads shaved in the town square?

I'm more concerned with if Putin will continue the clamp down on information. I don't expect the sanctions to stay. I don't believe they can stay. But this very well could mark a significant shift for the general public in Russia.

Putin is like 70, this is his last gasp. We will make a concerted effort to engage with the next guy

Silly question, but if RT is now on Rumble, does that allow people inside Russia to access Rumble? And if yes, how do they censor the other information on Rumble that can be clearly pro-Ukraine?

So long as Rumble isn’t actively censoring, then yes. I’m betting the Russian government is censoring it, but they all have VPNs to get it I’m sure. Every Chinese person had a VPN when I was there, so I’m sure that’s also likely true for the Russians. Granted I’ve been out with friends for a few hours so I’m not privy to the most recent developments.

Yeah, Putin has always had a pretty high approval rating - according to pretty much any Western/outside study over the last 20 years.
They’ve long bought into his list of grievances.
It also helps that Russia does its best to limit any critical information on what’s going on in Ukraine.

This is what they’ve been showing on Russian TV

Not a day without Tucker Carlson on #Russia's state TV. Here's another clip being used by the Russians to promote their disinformation about #Ukraine allegedly creating "bio-weapons" in its lab. #TuckyoRose delivers again.

Senior Defense Official Holds an Off-Camera Press Briefing
March 10, 2022
SENIOR DEFENSE OFFICIAL (1): Good afternoon. (omitted) We have a guest briefer with us that will talk to you about the Russian charges of some sort of bioweapons capability that the United States is assisting Ukraine with. Again, as you heard the Pentagon spokesman say yesterday, it's absurd and laughable and untrue. (omitted) We thought it would be useful to get an expert who understands what we are doing to help Ukraine in terms of bioresearch to talk to you credibly about what that looks like.
SENIOR DEFENSE OFFICIAL (2): Thank you, sir. So, what I'm going to do is provide an overview of the Biological Weapons Convention and some information regarding the United States, Russia, and Ukraine.

The World Health Organization advised Ukraine to destroy high-threat pathogens housed in the country's public health laboratories to prevent "any potential spills" that would spread disease among the population, the agency told Reuters on Thursday. Biosecurity experts say Russia's movement of troops into Ukraine and bombardment of its cities have raised the risk of an escape of disease-causing pathogens, should any of those facilities be damaged.

Is it your position that any criticism or skewed view of the socially acceptable narrative is inherently evil because it can be used as propaganda elsewhere?

Like I stated in the other thread, if you aren’t full bore “ra ra” with your blue and yellow pompoms, you are a “Poutine” lover.
It is how you end up with the progressive wing of US politics dismissing things like the Azov Battalion and the severe corruption of Ukraine, which permits them to openly support funding and weaponizing these groups.
It is “freedom fries” all over again.
You are either all in or you are a traitor.
