So what happens after Ukraine surrenders all claims to those four regions? Negotiations start?

Ukraine would be crazy to accept that deal because they aren’t getting anything in return.

The russians have bragged that the restaurant was the target. Do better keeping up with the kremlin talking points.

So Russia was correct, it was a meeting with military personnel, rather than a circa 1980s photo of some non descript restaurant.

Good for you, not swallowing the ukranian propaganda.

Okay now this is actually lol funny. Countries have "pledged" 24 billion to ukraine.

Are these the same countries that decades ago promised to spend 2% on NATO? Or are these the countries that pledged 100 billion a year to climate change? Sounds like the same countries. Now hold out both of your hands, and in one of them.............

Former Finance Director and never lived in Miami. He lives in Texas. He is CEO for a company owned by an oligarch who left Russia in 2014 and lives in Switzerland. He also has a consulting business with an American partner. He was in Central Asia in 2022 to set up business for money fleeing Putin from Russia and in 2023 in SE Asia doing the same thing

Ukraine still holds territory in Kursk

Im certain this had nothing to do with rushing his training and throwing him into the cockpit.

This ridiculous nonsense needs to stop at some point. I guess as long as its generating more kickbacks its okay.

"holds" and "territory" are quite subjective at this time. Lets see what happens when US forces and weapons are gone.

oil has dropped $10 a barrel since Liberation Day...

from the KI article...

As the war in Ukraine has dragged on, the Kremlin has massively increased defense spending, and 32% of the 2025 budget expenditure was allocated to the military and its war machine in Ukraine.

But there's an issue — when drawing up the 2025 budget, the Kremlin budgeted for an oil price of $70 per barrel. But on April 7, the price of Russian Urals oil tumbled to a 21-month low of $51.54 per barrel on the Baltic port of Primorsk, according to Argus Media.

"If the average price is lower (than $70 per barrel) throughout the year, Russia will have less money to earn and spend, especially to cover growing expenses connected to illegal actions against Ukraine," Wojciech Jakobik, a Warsaw-based energy analyst, told the Kyiv Independent.

This is a combination of the tariffs rocking the global economy and Saudi Arabia taking its share of sales to China back from Russia and the USA. We were exporting 4-5 million barrels per day.

FWIW, a client's company which makes gels for drilling mud from corn and corn starch has opened a warehouse in UAE as business is booming in the Middle East. The product is packaged with slight variations of specs under various major drilling fluid company names. Minnesota but mostly in Missisippi (the best business climate in the US)

Trump extends Biden's sanctions against Russia

Volodymyr Tunik-Fryz — Saturday, 12 April 2025, 19:49

US President Donald Trump has extended the sanctions imposed by Biden against Russia in 2021.

Source: a document of the US Federal Register.

Details: Trump has extended Biden's executive orders, which imposed a state of emergency on Russia and allowed sanctions against Russia for another year.

"Specified harmful foreign activities of the Government of the Russian Federation... continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. For this reason, the national emergency… must continue in effect beyond 15 April 2025," the notice says.

The document mentions that Russia continues to pose a threat to free elections and democratic institutions in the United States and its allies.

It also mentions participation in and assistance with cyberattacks against the United States, the promotion and use of transnational corruption to influence foreign governments, activities against dissidents or journalists, undermining security in countries and regions critical to US national security, and violations of established international law principles, such as respect for state territorial integrity.

Background:

On 15 April 2021, Biden declared a state of emergency under Executive Order 14024 to address the threat posed by the Russian government's malicious activities.
On 8 March 2022, Biden issued Executive Order 14066, which expanded the scope of the state of emergency, followed by several more executive orders expanding sanctions against Russia.
