Any Comments on Trump’s statement about a major Economic Deal with Russia?

I would be curious to see what this entails. I think we are at our best keeping our enemies close through trade and mutually beneficial economic initiatives. I think we are worse at doing so than we used to be, but seem to be improving from where we were in the 90's and early 2000's.

Also, you guys keep saying this is what you want, and that Trump is awesome for forcing it...

So why are you complaining when the result is what you desired?

Who is complaining?

I think the first quote there is dishonest because he really just wants Europe to be more responsible for their own defense than they have been, which he appears to be successful at thus far given the second quote.

I thought the minerals deal was signed days ago because Zelensky caved and had no leverage?

We'll see if Congressional and Senate Republicans grow any balls and shut that down...

You have to remember that we (the US) actually wanted things the way they were, no matter what we sometimes might've said for US domestic consumption... we wanted weak individual states in Europe dependent on/subservient to us as the big boss.

I think we realized that as long as the EU exists that they can be strong militarily and still not strong enough to avoid bending the knee to the US if push came to shove. You wouldn't see all of this US slander among these coward Eurocrats if this war were a real existential crisis.... you'd see them begging us to save them.

Also, not a single damned person on this planet until maybe 20 years ago wanted a militarily strong Germany (or Japan).

The issue with our political class being so old is that they are behind on the times when it comes to countries changing, especially after upheaval. The politicians 20 years ago either were or were raised by people to which WW2 was more of a "real" event than it is for people who didn't experience it. In the same manner we have children of the Cold War running things now who can't adjust. Granted, its less detrimental in today's case since Russia is still a bad actor even though they aren't the USSR anymore.

How did that work out for Germany, and why does everybody scream about them doing this all the time?

Its worked out pretty well the vast majority of the time

Is locking someone out working with Cuba? They are worse off. We are worse off, its just not as noticeable because they are small.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: We are in favor of Ukraine to be a NATO member. This was the statement from our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, so this is our official position.

Let's remember who was responsible for getting Russia and Assad kicked out of Syria.

This is what I was responding to in his post:

quote:

New German Chancellor Merz is Anti US. No surprise considering he worked for Blackrock. He is a globalist puppet so he will be against President Trump. This is a War against President Trump. Trump vs The Globalist/Deepstate

That doesn't sound like complaining to you?

"this week or next week!"

Really nailed down that time frame, eh?

I remember when it was "he's signing it tonight! And meeting our demands!" And... that didn't happen...

Well, Cuba is your perfect example of people not letting something go from 60 years ago...

Wow... even Slovakia!?! I guess those 100,000+ protestors unnerved Fico (or his bullet wound is still smarting a bit)...

A remarkable level of European unity on the resolution.

Trump rambles on about Ukraine repaying the US for the "$350,000,000" we've spent...

Exactly what is Zelensky supposed to receive in exchange for signing the mineral deal with the US?

Weapons, ammo?
US protection?
Good?
Cash?
