This is the obvious solution. Ukraine needs more weapons, but the Trump administration can't/won't authorize new spending at a time when DOGE is slashing spending. So, the answer is simple: let Ukraine/Europe buy the weapons.
It gets the burden off the back of the US tax-payer, so I have no problem with it.
It will result in a whole lot more dead people on both sides, but at least I won't be paying for them to be killed.

ISW Update Feb 10 2025

Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov announced the Ukrainian "Drone Line" project on February 10 as part of ongoing Ukrainian efforts to integrate drone and ground operations.
Ukraine's efforts to integrate drone operations with ground operations significantly differ from Russian efforts to centralize drone units.
Ukrainian forces continue to target oil refineries in Russia as part of an ongoing strike campaign against Russian defense industrial enterprises and oil refineries.
Russian authorities reportedly authorized the systematic torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) held in Russian prisons as early as March 2022.
The Kremlin may be setting informational conditions to justify an influx of North Korean citizens arriving in Russia to join either the Russian workforce or the Russian military.
A Russian official claimed that Russia is sending experienced Russian military personnel to North Korea for medical treatment.
The pro-Russian Moldovan breakaway republic of Transnistria refused aid from the EU to resolve its gas crisis, demonstrating Russia's continued economic influence over Transnistria and the Kremlin's prioritization of the region.
Ukrainian forces recently advanced near Pokrovsk.
Russian forces recently advanced in Kursk Oblast and near Chasiv Yar and Pokrovsk.
Russian milbloggers continue to complain about the systemic issue of Russian forces submitting false reports to Russian military authorities and of high-level Russian officers micromanaging tactical-level units on the battlefield.

Well he’s definitely much more informed than anyone on this site. We do know that, factually.
The bots don't want to admit it because they would rather argue against a caricature of someone rather than the person themselves or their arguments, but Tucker actually is somewhat to fairly knowledgeable on a WIDE variety of subjects. The issue with him is that sometimes the knowledge is a mile wide but an inch deep, and sometimes because he knows a lot about a lot of subjects he think he knows more than he actually does about subjects where he is clearly lacking.
I give a good number of his podcasts at least a chance. You can usually tell within the first five minutes or so if its going to be "Curious Tucker" which is good Tucker... asking questions, injecting enough of his personal input to get good information out of the guest..... or he turns into "Take over the convo" Tucker and its not worth listening to.

I think it should be pointed out how the Ukraine bots (correctly) state that Russia is this autocratic state where the people have no real say in what happens, but then say shite like this about the families of soldiers
"Should be fun" when families get killed. The people who agree with this are vile.

update - russian arms dependency on Norks
North Korea has sent 200 long-range artillery guns to Russia, Seoul says
by Martin Fornusek and The Kyiv Independent news desk February 11, 2025 1:58 PM
North Korea has provided Russia with around 200 long-range artillery pieces to boost its war effort against Ukraine, the Yonhap news agency reported on Feb. 11, citing South Korea's Defense Ministry.
Seoul further warned that Pyongyang is likely preparing to send additional troops and arms to back Russia's war, confirming earlier warnings by the Ukrainian intelligence.
North Korea has reportedly also supplied ballistic missiles, millions of artillery shells, and other arms to Moscow. In addition, the country has deployed up to 12,000 troops to Russia's Kursk Oblast to support Russian forces in countering a Ukrainian cross-border incursion launched in early August 2024.
The South Korean Defense Ministry suspects that North Korea is receiving Russia's technological assistance with nuclear-powered submarines and intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) in exchange for its military support, Yonhap reported.
According to the Japanese public broadcaster NHK, North Korea is also expected to begin drone production this year with Russian technical assistance.

Explain something to me Bill. If Ukraine needs more weapons, why was it recent!y reported and posted by you that they had received only half of what had been allocated from Biden? Where is that material that hasn't been delivered? Why not just deliver it?
Question 2: Who is going to use all of these new weapons? Ukraine doesn't have the manpower. Zelensky has Hitlered the army away by demanding that they defend every square foot of every shithole instead of preserving his forces and pulling back to new defensive positions. This strategy has played right into Russia's plan of destroying Ukraine's army and equipment. Ukraine has no chance in a war of attrition with Russia. Everything that we have sent them, hasn't driven the Russians back? What is going to stop them now?
We have heard on here for over a year Oh Ukraine is.killing thousands of Russians per day. So what? Russia doesn't care and they can be replaced easily. Russian strength in Ukraine has actually grown in size since the war started. Ukraine cannot replace the losses that it has sustained.

Depends what was authorized and not sent vs what is needed.
As stated here a few years ago, presidential authority can the make cost of zero dollars for a lot of old equipment like we've sent in the past, thus only freight to cost money.

NABU confirms 'pre-trial investigation' of Defense Minister Umerov over potential abuse of power
by Kateryna Hodunova February 10, 2025 6:00 PM
Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) has confirmed it is investigating possible abuses of power by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, the agency's director Semen Kryvonos said at a press conference on Feb. 10.
A "pre-trial investigation" was launched after Umerov dismissed Marina Bezrukova from her post as director of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) and appointed Arsen Zhumadilov in her place, prompting the Anti-Corruption Action Center (ANTAC) to file a complaint with NABU.
"The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and all the circumstances are being determined — whether there is a crime or not, whether there are perpetrators or not," Kryvonos said.
"I would not say that criminal proceedings have been initiated against anyone. It was initiated based on a complaint about possible abuses," he added.
NABU launched the pre-trial investigation on Jan. 28.
The dismissal of Bezrukova followed a week of escalating tensions between the ministry and the DPA.
On Jan. 21, the DPA supervisory board voted unanimously to extend Bezrukova's contract for another year. According to Ukrainian law, supervisory boards have the authority to hire and fire the heads of state enterprises unilaterally.
But due to amendments recently made to the agency's charter by the Defense Ministry, which oversees the DPA, the ministry can reverse the supervisory board's decisions.
Umerov overruled the board's decision on Jan. 24, saying he would not renew Bezrukova's contract as head of the DPA. He cited allegedly unsatisfactory results as the reason and appointed Zhumadilov, who also manages the State Logistics Operator (DOT).
Anti-corruption activists and lawmakers say the amendments and Umerov's decision are unlawful. ANTAC accused the Defense Ministry of a "hostile takeover," alleging it manipulated the state enterprise register to "legitimize" Zhumadilov's appointment.

Think very long and hard before you answer.
It is enforced by the Administrative branch. If the Administrative Branch refuses to acknowledge the checks and balances of the Judicial and Legislative Branches we have a Constitutional crisis.

Oh really? You want to explain that footage of Biden bragging about it on camera?
You are pure propaganda Keith. And a liar. You are either a gullible fool or you are a dishonest whore. Or maybe just a brainwashed a-hole. You try and defend corruption/lies or deflect.

Oh really?
• Hunter Biden did hold a directorship for a Ukrainian gas company while his father was vice president. Experts agree that Hunter Biden's acceptance of the position created a conflict of interest for his father.
• Vice President Joe Biden did urge Ukraine to fire its top prosecutor, with the threat of withholding U.S. aid. But that was the position of the wider U.S. government, as well as other international institutions.
• We found no evidence to support the idea that Joe Biden advocated with his son's interests in mind, as the message suggests. It's not even clear that the company was actively under investigation or that a change in prosecutors benefited it.

No... as it is I'm pleasantly surprised that Trump hasn't done what Sir Winston was excited he would do and just made it possible for Putin to defeat them outright.
