Chrome, my man, WestCoastAg regularly does this satire where he makes the worst arguments of the Putin boys to mock them.

Reading up on Tikhoretsk, it seems to have been smaller than Toropets, and more of a distribution center than a long-term storage facility.
Tikhoretsk was expanded a few months ago to accommodate more North Korean ammo.

If I were Russian and lived anywhere near an ammunition storage facility, I am quite sure that I would move.
UPDATE: Thousands of people have now been evacuated from the area.

Holy cow. Ukraine also hit another ammo dump last night, the secondary ammo dump near Toropets (where the main facility was destroyed a day ago).
This is going to force Russia to completely reimagine its logistics. It's equivalent to when we first gave HIMARS to Ukraine.
By the way, I'm seeing a lot of speculation that the Tikhoretsk strike was ATACMS. We shall see.

Luckily for Russia, they shot down all the drones last night. Imagine the damage if they hadn't.
quote:
Last night, 101 aircraft-type UAVs were shot down over Russia.
Most of the drones — 53 units — were destroyed over the Bryansk region. Another 18 drones were shot down over the territory of the Krasnodar Territory, 16 — over the waters of the Sea of ??Azov, 5 — over the Kaluga region, 3 each over the Tver and Belgorod regions, one each over the Kursk and Smolensk regions, as well as over the territory of the Crimean Peninsula.

In a truer world, I'd have been born Russian rather than British.

Also last night:
I don't want to burden the page with too many embedded tweets, so for this one, you can click the link yourself if you want to see the burning HQ building:

It wasn't the drones-it was the falling debris that caused the explosion.

We laugh, but this is not at all impossible when large amounts of ammo are stored out in the open, as seems to have been the case at both ammunition bases struck last night. There are satellite videos (just a few days old) showing hundreds of crates of ammo just open to the air.

Yeah, you could've grown up using a outhouse in the winter when the temperature is - 30 degrees in said outhouse. Wouldn't that have been awesome -- literally worried every day about your butt freezing to the seat?

British Defence Intelligence
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 21 September 2024
Overnight on 17/18 September 2024, Ukraine conducted a successful one-way attack (OWA) uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) strike on Toropets strategic ammunition depot in Russia's Tver region, approximately 500km from Ukraine. This depot is a storage site of the 107th Arsenal of the Russian Main Missile and Artillery Directorate, and almost certainly housed munitions of varying calibres for frontline use, as well as missiles and glide bombs used by nearby airfields. Ammunition procured from North Korea was also reportedly stored here.
Renovated in 2018, this is one of Russia's largest strategic ammunition depots directly supporting its operation in Ukraine, storing more than 30,000 tonnes of ordnance. Recent improvements to the site had been driven by previous poor storage of aging explosive material leading to a series of explosions across several depots. One such explosion in June 2011 in Pugachevo, Udmurtia, saw 3,000 homes damaged and 30,000 people evacuated.
The explosion at Toropets was recorded at 2.7 on the Richter scale, equivalent to a mild earthquake, with fires covering a 6 km-wide area. It is highly likely that poor storage of munitions, left vulnerable to OWA UAVS, caused a chain reaction of cascading detonations within the bunker system, resulting in enormous losses of ordnance. Russian air defence continues to struggle with Ukrainian deep strike operations, despite claiming to have intercepted more than 50 UAVs in this attack. Although part of a wider supply network, this loss will highly likely disrupt Russian ground operations, particularly in the Kursk region.

The Tikhoretsk strike may have yielded even more fruit -- there are large fires at the air base near Tikhoretsk. LINK
At this point, it's unknown whether the air base was also attacked, or whether the explosions from the ammo dump caused the fires at the air base.
Photos at link.

Dachas generally have outhouses. That’s why the toilet figure is strange. They’re second houses and specifically summer house and it just doesn’t appear to be a big deal for ordinary people.

If I read it correctly this strike was the first one (23rd Arsenal of GRAU) in the Defense Express article listing similar targets to Toropets.
Assessment of Other Key GRAU Arsenals As Big as in Toropets Within Ukraine's Reach

It was late and I was halfway through a fifth of whiskey. So if it was a troll I did fall for it; and apologize for calling West a dumbass. The sentiment still applies to the rest of the dumbasses.
