We've seen plenty of confirmed ratios of equipment losses from both sides. Casualty rates for offenses tend to be a lot higher than for defenses. It's difficult to know anything for sure given the fog of war and propaganda, but we get glimmers of facts here some of the time. PT not so much so.
If the Russian casualty rates posted are accurate, then it’s important. But of course so are Ukrainian losses, but logic tells us that it’s less than what Russia’s are because they are making frontal assaults.
Over 30,000 casualties a month is higher than what the US saw in Vietnam from what I remember.

There was an outdoor Green Day concert somewhere tonight, and about 20 minutes in the band was yanked offstage abruptly by security and their crew. about 10 minutes later they came back out and finished the show.
So they just left the crowd exposed the threats, without telling them? That's a terrible look, especially post aldean in Vegas.
Yeah, that's rough... someone there said they were close to a couple of security guards who when asked said something about "copyright issues..." which is weird... but apparently the crowd was kind of freaked out by the way the band was yanked off stage so abruptly.
But, I mean, how many people would've been trampled to death in a stampede if some announcement was made?
I myself would've calmly removed myself from the crowd if I saw the band yanked away.
After the assassination attempt recently (which I know was not done with a drone), I've started to think that outdoor events might become a thing put on hold... including sporting events, until someone can perfect some anti-drone swarm technology. I would not want to be in charge of security for the Olympics.

ISW had projected the Russian offensive to culminate sometime around late August to early September. Maybe they were right.

No freaking way!
Russia is steamrolling Ukraine in the Donbas; the war is over, and Ukraine just doesn't realize it yet.

LINK Yahoo link to article about fire breaking drones
Looks like they use molten thermite. Several videos including one at night. Pretty scary.

Way higher! The deadliest day for the US was 246. We had less than 60,000 killed in the entire war. The Russians already have ten times that amount.

Should be very effective against oil tanks.

Reminds me of napalm in Vietnam.

How freaking scary would that be to see one of those spitting fire and its headed your way.

Probably as much a psychological weapon as anyhing.

No doubt.
They should name that model "Dracarys"...seems appropriate

Yep, and we are letting undocumented aliens enter by the millions. I wonder how many will be setting up drone fleets to attack our infrastructure.

Welcome to the future... it sucks.
People are still laugh reacting at the Green Day concert thing "over a tiny drone," and insisting that "military drones" are the size of airplanes. When people point out that hobby drones have been weaponized, the reaction is "well, we don't live in Ukraine."
This is how 9/11 happened. A failure of imagination... in realizing terrorists and bad actors have more imagination than security forces or the public. The recent Hamas attacks on Israel happened because Hamas used paragliders to fly over the walls, defenses and security checkpoints... nobody ever imagined they'd think of that... 9/11 happened because nobody thought anybody would think to turn a jet into a kamikaze bomb.
There's a difference between situational awareness and honest risk assessment vs paranoia. The general public does not know that difference... I hope our security agencies get better at it.
It appears someone in Green Day's crew is better at reacting to a possible threat than the Secret Service.

We're letting undocumented aliens enter by the millions through the processing center on the Rio Grande? If undocumented millions are entering the country they're doing in areas that we don't know about... not surrendering to the border patrol to be processed and claim asylum. I just think this point has to be clarified... it is different. Just by the fact that ill actors would not want to be noticed they will evade us knowing about them. How much coastline do we have in this country? How long is the border with Canada? How many unoccupied areas does that border pass through? But this is probably something for the PT board.
But yes, drones are a huge threat. To infrastructure... to officials as assassination targets... to heavily attended events.

I agree but it seems to me Russia is just fine with a 2:1 or even 3:1 ratio.
It's what Russia does.

Men going home crippled or in boxes in such high numbers is going to penetrate Putin's propaganda veil.

If tweet fails to load, click here. 1. I will believe it when someone other than the Ukrainian military says it. Need multiple sources.
2. If it’s true then it proves me right. Within the past two weeks, I have said that Ukraine would move one of its crack units in and stabilize the front. Within the last week militaryland.net has shown that the 93rd mechanized brigade move from being in reserve to being in the Pokrovsk frontline.
