Several Strykers now appear to confirmed as having been destroyed in assaults on Robotyne. See comments for link to tweet claiming first one.
Note: Telegram link attributes it as a BMP-Bradley though it looks like a Stryker to me and has been identified as such by others.

So far push came to shove and didn’t cut the mustard.
I don’t know what the final outcome will be, but I don’t see any signs that Russia can finish the job any time soon and it doesn’t look like Ukraine has the muscle to get them out,

Have followed account for awhile, similar to another one I posted recently they post very sporadically and usually of footage not seen elsewhere.
In this tweet they claim to show the results of a Russian attack near Spirne, Donetsk oblast which was a repeated attempt after a similar one on 07.08.23 (Translation looks a bit spotty on that as it claims the repeat on this date by the looks of it)

23.07.23 Russian army using 5 tanks tried to capture our positions near Spirne, Donetsk oblast.
My friend shared photos of that attack and told me some details.
RUAF launched their attack using kamikadze MT-LB. Fortunately for us, it didn’t reach the goal.

During the attack UAF destroyed 2 Russian T-80BV and MT-LB. 3 more tanks were hit and retreated.
07.08.23 they repeated the attack.
Now they used BMP-1 as a kamikadze (was destroyed), more tanks, BMP-2s, a company of infantry.

It’s just a “small” episode of war. Every day Ukraine fighting. From Kherson to Kharkiv oblast.
Advancing (remember a fairly tail about 3 days?), defending, fighting. Every day.

Andrew Perpetua's war map now has the ability make concentric circles which is very handy for estimating ranges of different types of artillery and longer range munitions.

Sorry for the spam today, quite a developments came out over the past few days.
Huge thread (31 tweets) from Sam Bendett on the recent Russian Army expo. Very interesting to see some the the planned applications of lessons learned in the war, the focus of his thread is drone related ones.

Also an adjacent smaller thread on the coming drones swarms from him too.
https://twitter.com/sambendett/status/1693996258879570407
Russia is likely to make the first real world application of this in my view, similar to their strategy with tanks during WWII they are looking to use drones in such a fashion in this one.
Edit: Added context

I read someone else talking about this, and his view was that the Stryker is not a particularly heavy vehicle, and the mine roller is very heavy and seriously impacts the vehicle's mobility.
In other words, this ends up being a less-than-ideal demining vehicle, but it's what they have.

Apc arent invincible. AT weaponry will take them out no matter how advanced.
The differences in safety come in crew survivability even when the vehicle is damaged or otherwise made inoperable.
In all the pictures ive seen of these destroyed strykers, it looks like all the hatches are opened. Generally indicates there were atleast some survivors from inside.
Some people seem to have gotten an over inflated perception of the advantages of modern equipment. They aren’t invulnerable, they just dont light up like a box of tinder the same way older equip does like old M113 and older soviet era BMPs

Yes, i have no info on how many survived. Im just clarifying what one would realistically be looking for on the western supplied apcs that get taken out.
There was atleast one i saw that was still burning when the picture was taken and all the hatches were open.
It would be very unlikely that one was from looting atleast.

This has been the consensus on both of the Strykers as in both cases it appears that the passengers survived due to open hatches/rear ramps of the after hit footage.
This mirrors many of the Bradley and other NATO armoured vehicle hits seen previously and is the major difference exhibited thus far between NATO and Russian equipment as neither has proven less likely to get taken out in the static form of warfare currently being undertaken.
There is a reasonable argument that NATO gear has proved hardier in that it can be repaired more often if recovered, though this could just be the optics being presented thus far.

It is very much a David and Goliath scenario in the disparity between the size and damage of the attacks but the repeated strikes on Moscow is lending credence to these drones being launched within Russia.

ISW Update
quote:
Key Takeaways:
Ukrainian forces continued to make advances in and around Robotyne in western Zaporizhia Oblast as of August 22 amid indications that Russian forces likely have a limited presence in the settlement.
Russian forces appear to be concentrating their limited available reinforcements from elsewhere in the theater in the Orikhiv direction in western Zaporizhia Oblast.
Ukrainian offensive operations in other sectors of the front remain important because they can fix Russian units in place and prevent further lateral reinforcements. Criticisms of continued Ukrainian efforts in other sectors and calls for Ukraine to concentrate all available reserves on a single axis are thus problematic.
The Ukrainian advance in the Robotyne area brings Ukrainian forces closer to launching operations against second lines of defense that may be relatively weaker than the first Russian defensive line in the area.
Russian forces appear concerned about recent Ukrainian advances in the Donetsk-Zaporizhia Oblast border area and in western Zaporizhia Oblast.
Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated Russia’s unwillingness to renegotiate the Black Sea Grain Initiative until all of Russia’s extensive terms are met during the BRICS Business Forum in South Africa on August 22.
Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin may be trying to increase Wagner’s presence in Africa as part of an effort to maintain Wagner as a cohesive and independent organization.
A Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) delegation arrived in Libya on August 22, likely as part of the Russian MoD’s efforts to set conditions to possibly replace the Wagner Group with MoD-affiliated private military companies (PMCs).
The Kremlin is reportedly planning to cancel gubernatorial elections in the Republic of Khakassia in order to prevent a Russian veteran’s loss and ensure a United Russia victory, likely demonstrating the Kremlin’s concern over domestic support for the war and the fragility of its veneer of electoral legitimacy.
Russian forces conducted offensive operations along the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminna line, near Bakhmut, along the Avdiivka-Donetsk City line, in the western Donetsk-eastern Zaporizhia Oblast border area, and in western Zaporizhia on August 22 and advanced in certain areas.
Ukrainian forces conducted offensive operations on at least two sectors of the front on August 22 and made advances near Bakhmut and in western Zaporizhia Oblast.
Russian authorities continue their campaign of religious persecution in occupied Ukraine.

I would actually recommend watching this as an active exercise in disinformation identification. I've long given both these men the benefit of the doubt on their Russo-Ukrainian War stances. I assumed Carlson looked at the situation and simply came to a conclusion different than my own. I assumed Col. MacGregor, who has been demonstrably wrong in every major prediction he's made in this war, was simply coming to bad conclusions or operating off of bad data, or both.
Both, MacGregor more than Carlson, have slid into toeing an actual Muscovite propaganda line in this video. The one thing virtually every American agrees on by polling is that there should be no direct war between America and Russia over Ukraine - myself included. Yet to hear Carlson tell it, that action is a foregone conclusion. Based on what evidence? He doesn't say.
I really do recommend listening to MacGregor's "analysis" here. When you do, keep one question in mind: "If he's right, why has the war progressed the way it has thus far?" The answer is it wouldn't have. The Russians wouldn't have retreated from Kyiv, been crushed and driven east from Kharkiv last year, or been forced to retreat back over the Dnieper River under pressure. This is a man who has been consistently, provably wrong on every piece of analysis he's done on this war. Coupled with his glowing characterization of Russian behavior & intentions here, I'm forced to stop giving him the benefit of the doubt that he might just be getting it wrong.
Carlson interviewing MacGregor
They allege that once Ukraine is completely lost the US will send in its own troops and also lose that war
Also claims that Ukriane has lost 400,000 KIA, 40,000 just in the last month
I just fall back to if that was even close to true Russia would be dominating the battle field not holding a defensive line

Very interesting article about a fire fighter from Kherson who has been accused of collaboration.
This is going to be a significant problem for Ukraine to deal with if they are able to successfully retake more areas, how do they deal with people who have collaborated primarily out of selfless interests or due to being trapped by circumstance as it appears in Oleksiy Levchenko's case from the article?

I have to ask this question, what’s in it for them? Why keep pushing Russia is dominating the battlefield when any fair analysis indicates it’s been a stalemate since Russia list ground around Kiev, Kharkov and Kherson City.
