Two 3 star generals on national TV after midnight begging citizens not to join with Wagner, BEGGING. Meanwhile state TV saying that nothing to see here.
Wagner able to march 850 Km all the way to Moscow in 48 hrs seen by the entire world including Russian citizens.
Yeah, Putin didn't lose face at all. uh huh

It matters a lot. Russian citizens going up to Wagner soldiers to feed them too.
What to you want, Putin being seen on his knees begging?

Agreed. Probably figures he can wait it out in his private fiefdom in Belarus and rebuild his army. Then when Luka and Putin both die he rides in like a phoenix.
The problem with all that is he's not exactly a spring chicken (Prig is 62, Luka is 68 and Putin is 70) if all that happens he won't have long at the helm. Also the Russian soliders will remember what happened so he will have to kill scores in order to assert/keep control ( which is what every Russian leader must do).
Of course this is all assuming Putin doesn't kill him when all these dies down in 6 months.
What a time to be alive.

It makes them both look bad but I feel like Putin comes out much worse.
It makes Putin look like Prigozhin's bitch. He went from radio silence, to saying all of Wagner was a bunch of traitors, to immediately capitulating when it became obvious he didn't have the forces needed to stop Wagner from getting to Moscow. He's going to have to figure out a way to take out Prigozhin w/o making him a martyr now which is going to be difficult.
Meanwhile, Prigozhin now looks like little more than an opportunist who pretended he was trying to save Russia in order to pad his back end. He's going to try and hide behind the BS "Well I didn't want to hurt Russians" crap which everyone knows he gives zero fricks about and probably means he will need to purge a decent amount of people under him.

That any of his men who mouthed off about him not going straight to Moscow are about to get fricked in the head w/a sledgehammer.

I feel like that makes him a gangster. And that would make this whole ongoing plot a classic mafia power play
and that western preconceived notions of national sovereignty and norms of behavior don’t really apply here at all. And that none of this makes any sense until one accepts that the Russian federation is nothing more than a crime family. And maybe the policy of arming the actual sovereign entity fighting this crime family will eventually work as they more than likely will implode under their own avarice and greed.
and finally, that none of this has anything to do with American political issues other than our obligations to NATO and our interests in weakening a criminal enemy

That's a good point. Those dues are probably the first to be wiped to ensure loyalty to him.
So Purges in Wagner likely coming.
Purges in the Russian Mod/FSB/Army are coming
Purges of the Russian people are coming
Is it 1936 again?

Prigo should’ve committed or not. He crossed the rubicon, now you are accepting a “deal” good luck with that
Posted on 6/24/23 at 8:38 pm to jefffan
I just don't see how Russia comes out of this looking stronger.

even if Prig becomes MoD for Belarus and gets them up to snuff. What's to stop him from marching into Moscow the moment Putin dies to attempt a takeover?
Putin doesn't give a shite about the world post-Putin
