He did start a thread on the Poliboard. As I promised, I gave him a real answer.

The beaver battle in the trenches rages on. Beavers are more formidable than Russian bears evidently.

Ukrainian v beaver battle.

I assume most have seen the earlier video which ended with the exact same result.

The simplest, easiest answer that you won’t either understand and or accept is that sending $33 billion in arms to Ukraine to destroy the Russian military is a steal when you are trading money and bullets for not dropping an ounce of American blood.

The world is a dangerous place, and if someone wants to borrow a dime to bloody one of my few competitors, I'll spend that long before I sink a dollar into dealing with that competitor by putting my own people at hazard.

This is the geopolitical bargain of the 21st century so far. The Russians are grinding through 30 years of dedicated military rebuild and redesign, for what the Pentagon spends in 30 calendar days? Sign us up for that with every potential rival.

I don’t know why they even wasted time getting rid of it. If you’ve ever had them frick with your land you’d have no problem just putting a bullet in it.

Nice to see in the last few pages that, the thread, at large, is finally learning how useless it is to humor the trolls.

I wouldn’t say that (at least yet) but it is insane to watch the same people (I’m talking about policy makers, not posters) charging ahead and lecturing anyone who expresses hesitancy as though they haven’t been burned by their hubris over and over again.

Of course, most of them have minimal skin in the game and their continued careers are an example of moral hazard.

British Defence Intelligence
UPDATE ON UKRAINE 30 March 2023
INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

Russian media reporting suggests that the authorities are preparing to start a major military recruitment campaign with the aim of signing up an additional 400,000 troops.

Russia is presenting the campaign as a drive for volunteer, professional personnel, rather than a new, mandatory mobilisation. There is a realistic possibility that in practice this distinction will be blurred, and that regional authorities will try to meet their allocated recruitment targets by coercing men to join up.

Russian authorities have likely selected a supposedly 'volunteer model' to meet their personnel shortfall in order to minimise domestic dissent. It is highly unlikely that the campaign will attract 400,000 genuine volunteers. However, rebuilding Russia's combat power in Ukraine will require more than just personnel; Russia needs more munitions and military equipment supplies than it currently has available.

If we are in the early stages of a new world order struggle between the West and BRICS nations, having Ukraine allied with us will be a major advantage.

Seems the 21st century has the potential to be an economic/political land grab just like the 18th and 19th century colonialism days were

Hard to look at what's going on with BRICS and think we're "winning" this diplomatically. We are pushing Russia into alliances with...oh, just all of the other major oil producing countries in the world. What could possibly go wrong for us? We don't have leadership willing to use our own natural resources so I'm sure it'll be great.

It will only be because of our proxy war with Russia that we should not have started. No matter what you think about the Ukraine situation, staying out of it was the best move.

Hate to break your narrative but we have been in a political and physical proxy war with Russia since Putin took power

Having Ukraine helps ensure the “buffer” between Russia and Poland is on our side. Ukraine also has untapped natural resources that the West could help them cultivate. That plus their agriculture

Defeating Russia in Ukraine will be a major blow to the legitimacy of BRICS

You should have been paying attention to this thread rather than Politard board.

Meh, on BRICS being more than a fantasy. To be a global currency center, Rule of Law, has to be as solid as in US and UK. This is why London is the center of the world for ship/cargo insurance and the Dollar the safest investment in the world. Rots of Ruck getting rule of law in Russia, China, India or even Brazil. India and China hate each other and regularly have clashes at the border. Russia is losing money with every barrel of oil sold as the low prices then more after heavy discounts.

Ukraine has signed agreements with 3 western companies to develop its oil and gas massive reserves, then Russia invaded in 2014. Russia doesn't have the technology to do this. Venezuela wants to make nice with the USA due the Chinese and Russian concessions for oilfields there don't have the technology to bring them back.

I could go on and on about the importance of Ukraine to the West and why its population (even ethnic Russians) overwhelmingly support being away from the Russian sphere of influence. Even Kazakhstan is wanting less of Russia and it is an economic ally ON PAPER.

He's not calling anyone cucks, he's civilly discussing whether or not our level of involvement is wise for the country

By any reasonable standard that's a fit for this thread. Now, he'll get repeatedly shouted down for expressing any reservations about waging this proxy war, but if the vast majority of posters can cheerlead for Ukraine and the US role in Ukraine, why shouldn't he discuss that same topic from the other side?

Russia has arrested Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and charged him with espionage.

This is exactly why doing a swap for Britney Griner was a bad idea.
