Whoa. From the transcript of the speech that UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace just gave to Parliament:
The negative news is that, of the 30 AS90 guns promised to Ukraine, only 8 of them are ready to go right now.
But the rest of this is absolutely huge news for Ukraine -- another 100k artillery shells is a lot. And 20 million pounds worth of drones? How many drones is that?
And mine-destroying equipment is essential. The lack of it was really what prevented Ukraine from inflicting greater damage on retreating Russian forces as the left the Kherson region. It'll be necessary for forcing a breach in the new Russian defensive lines.
quote:
Today I can announce the most significant package of combat power to date to accelerate Ukrainian success.
This includes:
- A squadron of Challenger 2 tanks with armoured recovery and repair vehicles.
- We will donate AS90 guns to Ukraine. This comprises a battery of eight guns at high readiness and two further batteries at varying states of readiness. This donation will not impact our existing AS90 commitment to Estonia.
- Hundreds more armoured and protected vehicles will also be sent including Bulldogs.
- A manoeuvre support package, including minefield breaching and bridging capabilities worth £28 million.
- Dozens more uncrewed aerial systems worth £20 million to support Ukrainian artillery.
- Another 100,000 artillery rounds; on top of the 100,000 rounds already delivered.
- Hundreds more sophisticated missiles including GMLRS rockets, Starstreak air defence missiles, and medium range air defence missiles.
- An equipment support package of spares to refurbish up to a hundred Ukrainian tanks and infantry fighting vehicles.
While the tanks and the AS90s will come from our stocks, along with their associated ammunition, a significant number of the other donations are being purchased from the open market or from supportive third-party countries.

She would be a lot hotter if it wasn’t for the trashy thigh tattoo. I would rate her as an OT 5.6.

Yeah, let's let Russia rule the world. Why don't you just move there first, spend a year in Perm or Novosibirsk, and then let us know if you still want to follow through with that plan.
please name a scenerio where russia could defeat the Uk & france....hell please name a scenerio where they could defeat poland
leaving NATO and making germany and some of the others to stop being fricking douche bags does not equal russia ruling the world
talk about hyberbole. the two of us talking about this are more talking in the realm of germany and the others in nato either get fully on board and stop being influenced by the kremlin or we say frick it....you are on your own and then we sign treaties with the countries who do want to get on board with what we say.
bottomline is we are paying 90% of the bill......us pushing back on that and asking them to honor their contract doesnt equal cut and run from ukraine nor does it equal letting russia become the soviet union again
stop having dumbass takes and throwing out strawman arguements like a child. grow up peter pan.

REAKING State Duma deputy, Lieutenant General Andrei Gurulev: As soon as German tanks appear on Russian territory, Russia will have no choice but to announce a general mobilization.
Why is Russia waiting? There has been fighting in the Luhansk oblast, the Donetsk oblast, the Zaporizhzhia oblast, and the Kherson oblast since Russia “ liberated and annexed them” last fall. I guess this deputy still considers them to be part of Ukraine.

The past few pages of this thread have done nothing but make the case for the US leaving NATO.
As long as Europe is the main trading partner of the USA, it is absolutely worth it.

quote:Well they’re not “the” main trading partner. Canada, Mexico and China each by themselves are bigger trading partners than the entire EU combined. So we can leave now?

If the amount of trade between countries is the metric by which we determine our military alliances, then China and the US should have signed a mutual defense treaty decades ago.

Every respected scholar in the world knows that the US leaving NATO would lead to more war & conflict in Europe that would eventually (in the relatively near future) envelope the entire continent and devastate our economy (and have many other adverse consequences for our country). This isn't about whether or not Russia could defeat the UK and/or France and/or Poland. It is about what Putin thinks would happen.
The best money our country could possibly spend for our national security is this money in Ukraine. We are destroying Russia's conventional capabilities and slaughtering Russians en masse without any America lives lost. Geopolitically, this is a godsend, unless you prefer Russia over the US.

And while they’re doing all that and sending their kids to free university, lapping up free healthcare and pensions available to them for one reason and one reason only, the US taxpayer. And they still would rather buy their energy from the evil dictator in the Kremlin.

Europe is a fricking joke. Its elected leaders are a joke. Its population is a fricking joke. frick them. If they want our protection then we should be able to dictate their domestic and foreign policy. They clearly aren’t capable of doing even the simplest tasks by themselves.

Ah, the old question anything that’s happening and you support Putin line. Only a small minded ignorant fool would think this way.

Speaking of drones, I hadn't seen any reports of effectiveness of Switchblade drones we sent 100 of last year. We shipped the smallest version good for soft targets only, like fuel trucks. They must have been successful as Lithuanian has order a several hundred in December due successful use.

Truth. Like I said in an earlier post, we have bailed them out twice and here we are again. Germany's armed forces are a joke. The 100 billion euros Scholz proposed is a joke. Just this week the person over defense oversight in such matters reported to the parliament/Bundestag that they need 300 billion to become relevant. That is how far that they are behind. Their joke of a defense secretary who refused to push forward reforms just resigned. She was another SPD disaster.
It's time for the European socialists to put up or shut up.

have you let europe know? because they seem to want to drag their feet on everything.

this we agree with. Im not saying what we are doing is worth it. it is. les than 6% of our defense budget to detroy over 60% of russia conventional military and their economy. said that 100 times
this is more about germany and a couple others being pussies and bought and paid for by the kremlin.
if they want to cuddle up to russia fine...frick them and hungry and others...kick their asses out the EU and out of Nato.
either with us or you are with russia and putin. no middle ground for germany and to be with us, do as we frickign say....period. or they can fend for themselves.

We are paying, but Ukraine is paying way more, and we aren’t paying in blood.

I’m with Trump on this European nations need to pay their share. That’s not debatable. And FWIW, Russia’s effectiveness of lack of is shocking. Maybe we need to concentrate less on land fighting and more on missiles and missile defense. Maybe our strategy needs to be adjusted accordingly.

And you chastise Europe for laughing at us, you proceed to run them in the ground. I believe we have enough of our own welfare, our own border issues, our own screwed up leaders that we don’t need to be telling Europe how to run their countries. Yes, we should lead in NATO but if they want socialized medicine and if they want their pensions that’s on them as long as they back NATO as they are supposed to.
And I have no problem with your opinion. You just need to refine your presentation.
