Exactly. We firebombed Japan on purpose . We knew good and damn well what we were doing. Did we answer for war crimes? Lol no, cause we won.
Had the Bomber Mafia been on the losing side things might not have gone so well for them post war.
Anyone interested in the Bomber Mafia should listen to Malcolm Gladwell's multi-part podcast and preferably read his book "Bomber Mafia".

All of that is irrelevant today however both LOAC and the DOD LoW both agree power grid infrastructure is a legitimate military target.
No doubt. But this evolution of Russian strategy to inflict suffering is a change from the most ridiculous early professed reasons for the war, the “liberation” of the Ukrainian population from their malevolent government and reuniting of the Ukrainian people with their natural leaders in Moscow.
Now that it is clear in Moscow that the Ukrainians don’t want them, Russia is trying to severely batter its former imaginary lover. Russia is behaving like a woman scorned.

Understood.
They didn’t wait because they were worried about world opinion or about being blamed for war crimes.

Russia is finally attacking the Ukrainian infrastructure. Why didn’t they do that day one?
So basically arroganc3

Meanwhile on the poliboard
In the course of about six months the Biden Admin has given Ukraine roughly 150% of Russia's entire defense budget.
In return:
- the Nazis, I mean Ukrainians, have attacked their own people, dropped missiles into Poland (so, Nazis attacked Poland - again) in a ploy to invoke NATO Article V, committed war crimes, threatened Polish soldiers there to help, been utterly disrespectful of American generosity, and created a kill list that has Americans on it.
- large portions of Ukraine have been not just seized, but secured by the Russians, and the Russians are poised to put Ukraine back into the Dark Ages once the ground freezes.
- there is no accountability for US weapons and money sent into theater.
- there are suggestions that this money was then funneled back to the Democratic Party. We can all take some educated guesses on where the weapons went.
- the US border is left completely unsecured for millions to literally invade our country, trafficking people, committing atrocities against those they traffic, bringing huge quantities of drugs, terrorizing border areas, and leading to about 100,000 dead Americans each year.
- The wide open border provides aid and comfort to China, since they are working in tandem with the cartels to weaken our nation and bring large amounts of fentanyl into the nation. All that's missing is confirmation that China is getting kickbacks on the drug trafficking that they are facilitating. Oh yeah, China has its own police station(s) here in the US, used to spy on Americans and pressure Chinese-Americans into various things on behalf of the CCP, and the Biden Admin does nothing about that, either.
Meanwhile the Dems want to introduce legislation based on the 14th Amendment to bar Trump from office, though the amendment mentions "aid and comfort to our enemies" as a disqualifying item as well.
Lastly, the McFailure team was not only OK with all of this, they actively sabotaged the ability of Republicans to put a stop to Democrat shenanigans.

The bombing campaign conducted over Germany by the American 8th Air Force and British Bomber Command during WWII is proof of this. They targeted everything from factories, rail stations, power plants, dams, and anything that could remotely benefit the Third Reich war effort. British Bomber command even targeted residential areas of industrial centers using the justification of factory workers either made homeless or outright killed in bombing raids would hurt the output of German factories.
Not saying it’s right. But it is reality and has been for a long time.
Total war is a war that is unrestricted in terms of the weapons used, the territory or combatants involved, or the objectives pursued, especially one in which the laws of war are disregarded.
WWII was a total war conflict. The Geneva Convention hoped to put restrictions on the amount of damage that would be done to the civilian population.
Russia is not adhering to the Geneva Convention rules. How long the civilized world will allow this rogue nation to conduct total war in Ukraine is the quandary.
Their propagandists even talk about using nuclear weapons, the ultimate weapon of war. No civilized society would allow this. Russia must be defeated.

Do you guys just make shite up in order to hate Russia more? Everything you just posted is pure fantasy.
There is nothing in the Geneva Conventions forbidding attack on civilian infrastructure. If there is then the United States is by far the most egregious culprit in this century alone. Hell, the USAF has killed orders of magnitudes more civilians than the Russians have.
And I’m not sure if you remember but the United States government is the only entity in the world that has ever nuked anyone.
Look man you hate Russia. That’s cool. Just admit that and say that you believe that the US and the Western world doesn’t have to play by the same rules as Russia. You don’t need to fabricate reasons out of thin air to hate Russia.

crying that people are being unfair towards Russia, our enemy, is pathetic.

Well that’s true but it’s got nothing to do with this particular conversation. The simple fact is that bombing civilian infrastructure outside of purposely bombing schools and hospitals and such that are not being used for military purposes isn’t a war crime isn’t a war crime. Killing civilians during the normal course of combat isn’t a war crime. Hell, there isn’t even a rule against nuking people.

You need to separate the actual villains like Putin from the Russian people. If you don't, then you turn to evil and are capable of doing anything to the innocents. You can have both of those thoughts in your head at the same time.

You should probably grow up. You’re looking at this war with the emotional maturity of a drunken rant poster whining about Bama playing dirty.
