By the time Russia finally takes control of the major cities, they'll have a decimated military and a worthless currency. Brilliant strategy by Putin.
Let's pretend Ukraine is magically totally occupied by Russia tonight. Tomorrow morning how does Russia put in a puppet without an decade long insurgency? This has quagmire written all over it given the stance of the local populace.

It’s a shame all of you tactical geniuses never served.

Turkey will close their waterways to Russian ships. Need this to be classified as a "war" in order to break treaty with Russia allowing safe passage of ships through Turkish water.

What major war lasted less than a week to all these progress trolls?

Turkey owns control of the Bosphorus Strait (entry into the Black Sea). Under the Montreux Convention, they can restrict access to fleets in war time. However, they can't restrict fleets in which they are going to their home port.
In this case, Turkey can say no more Russian fleets can cross into the Black Sea (except for the fleets returning to their home ports)

This stupid invasion of Ukraine is literally gutting Russia, and you think quick progress doesn't matter.

How many Russian subs are right outside of our waters?

I know it wasn't the entire thing but the land war in Desert Storm was like 100hrs and we achieved our objectives, right?

You're just a slave to the MSM. Putin is our savior from the globalist, how can you not cheer him on in invading a sovereign nation?

You’re stupid. The US and every single EU nation is still paying Russia daily to provide energy.
Go back to fricking Reddit and share your geopolitical genius there.

#BREAKING ~2/3 of #Russia troops around #Ukraine have now been committed inside Ukraine, 1/3 not gone in yet. As of this AM, they've launched more than 320 missiles--majority of them are short range ballistic--with indications some launches have failed, per US Sr Defense official

Russia will have its border secured, geopolitical gains, and the economy will go back to normal/the world will go back to being scared of trump and China and forget everything within two months.

It's completely idiotic to compare this to Desert Storm - or any other previous attack.
First of all, the part of international community that hasn't already cut Russia off from the economic system (US/EU) has already lost tremendous respect for Russia (China).
Second, Russia is basically attacking a country where large numbers of its own citizens have close friends, family, and ethnic ties. It's basically as dumb as the US invading Canada because they decided to have universal healthcare.
Third, this whole invasion is a ego-stroke for a geriatric remnant from the Cold War. He's going to compel his own military to commit horrific war crimes against people he claims are Russian. Great way to win hearts and minds.
If Putin doesn't nuke all of us due to his brain cancer, Russia is basically going to come out of this weaker than the tiny Baltic states they hoped to reconquer.
