Germany is committing 100 billion euros ($112.7 billion) to a fund for its armed services and will ramp up its defense spending above 2% of its gross domestic product, Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a special session of the Bundestag on Sunday.
It has become clear that "we need to invest significantly more in the security of our country, in order to protect our freedom and our democracy," Scholz said.

"Chancellor @OlafScholz just made a super strong statement at the Bundestag. Military expenditure to more than 2% of GDP, thoroughly strengthening the Bundeswehr, building new LNG terminals to break free from Russian gas."
CNBC
Germany spent $53B on defense last year. I’m going to count this in the HUGE category. While obviously not our level of spending, this is a significant change for Germany and potentially the beginning of a reverse of their defense strategy.

Now lets imagine the reaction if Trump went to Mar-A-Lago while this was going on...
Trump is getting shite on for taking classified docs to Mar-a-lago. Think there are any classified material in Delaware?

Yep, Merkel was/is a outta touch bitch. She did nothing but strengthen our adversaries

For sure. I don’t know much about her successor, was he known to be somewhat opposite? I thought he was from the same coalition, but could be wrong.
Either way this seems both good and concerning for the future. Double edged sword in the case of Germany. I imagine Poland being both happy and nervous.

Germany arming up it seems. Probably see a lot of the European countries doing the same.

I thought they were already fighting with Russia, no?

Honestly if they can keep it clean about the same amount of money will actually make it down to the nuts and bolts of defense as the US.

Last 24 hours in Belarus:
Participating in the war, at minimum by letting Russia use it as a staging ground and to attack from.
Lady announces she’s named herself PM in a coup on Lukashenko in opposition of participating in Ukraine
Holding a snap vote on allowing Russia to station nukes in Belarus
Now sending their own soldiers into Ukraine
Been a wild 24 hours for those folks

They were allowing Russia to use Belarus as a staging area and jumping off point. I don't know if it was ever reported that Belorussians were fighting alongside Russians, however.

Belarus, puppet state of Russia, was enabling Russia to use their country to launch attacks.
Ukraine has until 3PM today (their time)to decide if they want to have peace talks with Russia in Belarus.
Ukraine is now saying Belarus is going to send troops.
It's probably a bit of gamemanship by Ukraine saying this to get international favor of why they aren't going to the table due to Belarus is about to attack them.
Although, the int'l community already knows that they shouldn't have peace talks in an unsafe/Russia puppet gov't location.
Russia knows this too and will use it as ammo to say to their citizens that Ukraine doesn't want peace.
Both Turkey AND Isreal has offered to host peace negotiations and talks. Russia has turned them down.

OSINT Ukraine is reporting that Putin has ordered his nuclear deterrence forces to high alert.

I'll be damned. GN is ahead of the curve on this. He's been training for years for this moment.

They were also reportedly participating in war games with the Russian troops. This was undoubtedly a cover for the build up, but if they in fact were training together it's not a far leap to say they were going to go in with the Russkies.

Lots of videos (unverified) of T-90s getting destroyed or abandoned the past day.

Yeah I’ve seen a lot on Rob Lees’s ongoing thread. Kyiv newspaper is claiming well over 100 Russian tanks destroyed.

I still think the thing that gets me is....
Russia still doesn't have air superiority.
If 4300 Russians were dead, I would assume you'd see a TON more footage of bodies and a ton of video fighting between two parties.
Most videos are just aftermath shots where Ukrainians capture Russians or equipment on the side of the road. Or one sided fighting (with no signs of Russians).
Either we aren't being told the whole truth or Russia Army frickING SUCKS.
