Russias national security interests justified russias invasion of Ukraine, to Russia. Exactly like USA national security interests justified invasion of iraq, to USA. These are undeniable facts.
Neither of these are true in reality and therefore neither make the actions taken justifiable, for either party

Just flat-out saying what we already knew, which is that Putin doomed hundreds and maybe thousands of Russian soldiers to their deaths in Lyman, simply because he wouldn't allow a Russian retreat from Lyman to ruin the "triumphant" day of his speech and the "annexation" of Ukrainian territory.
You have a link? I'd love to read more from that source.

I have to run to work right now, but it's from Wagner's Telegram channel, called Grey Zone.

The only graph I posted said that 67% of Eastern Ukraine thought Kyiv was shite
And the source material for that graph showed that over 75% wanted to remain one country

What the frick are you talking about? There has not been a single moment in this entire conflict where you will ever see me arguing in defense of Putin or Moscow’s unjust imperialist bullshite
Nor I
In fact I don't even really care
But I mean Jen Psaki was leading the state department response in 2014 calling Russia okay and then fast forward 8 years and she is on the stand at the White House saying terrorism
I mean that is some sketchy shite
What are the possible odds
Pretty good because this is all sketchy as frick

He did end it in "to Russia" lol. Can't argue with that.

Insane. If Russia thinks that their security concerns supersede the sovereignty of another nation, then the former post-Soviet states who drove NATO expansion were right to join a defensive alliance against Russia. You aren't thinking this argument through, obviously.

Lyman was taken after being effectively encircled. Ukraine mined the road leading out and its armament was abandoned and soldiers fled through the woods. A total clown show.
Now it is reported south of Bakmut that several Russian Spetznatz units encircled, chopped up at Stavky

If Ukraine can make a drive toward the Black Sea ports and recapture Mariupol and Kherson, that might be all she wrote.

His characterization of 80’s communists is actually pretty spot on. I was active in civil rights politics at the time and could spot the shadowy American Communist Party folks a mile away when they would skulk around our events. We would keep an eye on them. They were absolutely advocating the destruction and “rebuilding” of America. They also seemed to have very shadowy sources of money.
I’m not actually disagreeing with that.
I’d even go a step further and say that fringe leftists today aren’t any different. One of the common themes amongst extreme left wingers was the theory of “acclerationism,” which, ironically in 2016 and 20, meant they actively supported Trump in the general. Not because they believed in him or his policies, but because the thought was Trump will make things so bad and destroy America that people will magically rush to their corner to fix it. It’s child brain logic but it existed on the fringes.
But what is important is that like then, these are boogiemen that don’t actually hold any real political power. Meanwhile, the GOP very much does. And polling shows those that sympathize with things like the Big Lie and support Jan 6 are in pretty alarmingly high numbers relatively speaking. And the key difference is that those sentiments are actually held by people in the GOP holding majority power in states and in a not insignificant number in congress. It makes that movement far more consequential and worrisome cause those sentiments actually have a home in the minds of people holding high offices.

A recently mobilized conscript is gifted a 6 pack of tampons by his mom only to have them ripped away by his own comrades.

Once they were cut off, some have tried to flee east, only to be killed on the road to Kreminna. Supposedly, that road is full of destroyed vehicles.
I bet that road looks a lot like Highway 80 in Kuwait looked in 1991.

I am not proffering this for the truth of the matter asserted I just thought it had some interesting insight.
If nothing else it spurred my intellectual curiosity about methane hydrate plugs and by the end of the day I will likely know far more than I ever wanted to about this topic as a brief Google indicates there is a trove of information about them.
Law Dog Files
Just spitballing but if Russia had tried to depressurize the pipes from just their end it could have caused the issues.
Again, not suggesting it is the reason for the ruptures but it is an alternate theory which is simply interesting to me.

I've seen one video already, showing a number of burnt vehicles (both armored and civilian) and some dead Russian bodies by the side of the road.
I don't know how extensive that is, though.
