You would be a geographic retard. Don't worry, most Americans are.

Henry the VIII assured that GB not only was an Island nation, but socially distinct as well.

You are often sloppy with language and have to come up with a tortured argument instead of just admitting you were imprecise.

The primary argument that the UK is not part of Europe is a sociological one, not a geographic one. Only a contrarian geographer would argue the UK is not part of the continent of Europe.

WARTHOGS TO UKRAINE? Time magazine reports that a secret flight simulation center has been established to train Ukrainian aircrews to fly the US’s main ground attack aircraft, the A-10.

The facility, which has been operating since early May, uses sophisticated flight simulators to prepare a cadre of Ukrainian A-10 pilots for the hoped-for day when the U.S. does supply Ukraine with the planes. In late July, TIME was allowed to visit the training center, on condition the reporter be blindfolded on the way to and from the facility to prevent knowledge of its location. Designed with help from open source YouTube videos of U.S. military trainers in action and built with off-the-shelf components and guidance by retired U.S. military officials, they’ve produced a Warthog training facility on the fly.

Putin’s War in Ukraine at a Standstill, Western Officials Say

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-08-19/putin-s-war-in-ukraine-at-a-standstill-western-officials-say
quote:

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is at a near-operational standstill, with neither side currently able to launch an offensive that would materially affect the course of the conflict, according to an assessment from Western officials.

With both sides more conscious that they face a marathon rather than a sprint in a war already close to six months old, the tempo of the conflict has slowed, the officials said on condition of anonymity. They said the question now is whether Ukraine can generate a credible counterattack in the fall.

So long as we’re clear I’m talking about Western Europe and not Eastern Europe, you’ve got a deal.

Of course western europe. I will have to have layover(s) in western europe unless the direct flight from NYC to Kyiv is back in which case the deal is off because the war would be over.

This is a very interesting graphic discussing artillery shell consumption rates.

BURN RATE: Volodymyr Dacenko
@Volodymyr_D_
created this brillaint infographic. Putin’s Special Military Operation is expending ~2,500 tons of ordinance per day, a consumption level on par with combatants in World War II. Can Russia sustain this effort?

BURN RATE: Russia’s combat losses in Ukraine now number 44,330 dead, with an estimated 130,000 wounded. These losses far exceed the total casualties incurred in the ten years of the Soviet-Afghan War.

Likely mostly one way missions per a friend who was a squadron commander of A-10's FWIW, there are enough experienced pilots who would likely be open to merc work

I would have expected them to be near the top given their historical hate of russia and their interests in the region

Well Romania is not in a position to give anything. Romania's Air Force is made up of unmodernized MIG21s and F16s. Only 5 of its 23 Migs are flightworthy according to open source intel, and the Ukrainians do not know how to fly F16s so Romania can't help with aircraft. Romania's anti defenses have already upgraded to the Patriot missile system as well as the AEGIS Ashore system. Since Ukraine does not operate either one of those systems it cannot give any to Ukraine. Romania's main MBT is a Romanian built version of the T55 which Ukraine is not desperate enough to need yet. Romania has restarted its production lines and is supplying Ukraine with 122 mm and 152 mm artillery shells for their USSR era artillery pieces, but since the USA is paying for them those are counted under aided provided by the USA.

The biggest shocker to me is France. The reason being that France has long had a healthy and active armaments for sale industry. Additionally, France does project military power beyond its borders, even as for hire like in UAE as its defense force.

It’s just comical that this thread somehow thinks Europe completely aligns with their war mongering worldview and that they’re going to tolerate having to gladly sacrifice a shite ton of their modern day comforts for the most corrupt country in all of Europe. We’re already seeing that completely collapse throughout Europe, and winter hasn’t even hit yet. Just completely oblivious that we can clearly see the iceberg straight ahead, but this thread writ large when it comes to being warned on how this war is going to end:

I really need you to think things through for once. Because you don't appear to understand a key facet of this and refuse to see any other viewpoint.
