My God some people ITT lately just need to start their own thread from the Russian vantage point and how they’re basically equivalent to or better than our govt.
I think the majority of all regular contributors ITT are under no delusion that our govt is fricked up and immoral, but equating them to Russia is just preposterous.

I think several things drive this Russian love:
1) Trump liked Putin
2) Trump's conversation with Zelinsky got him impeached (I'm not arguing the right/wrong of that)
3) The Bidens Ukrainian ties/corruption
This leads them to conclude (Zelinsky / Ukraine / US) are all bad, and Russia is good. At least, I think this is what is driving it. My statement might be a bit simplified, but I think it makes the overall point.

It was first reported on twitter over the weekend, but now it’s been verified enough that the media has started reporting it. The Russians have not acknowledged it yet, but they have not denied it yet despite it being in the news for 48hrs or more.
