It makes perfect sense if you haven’t convinced yourself that Ukraine and by extension the EU hold authority currently over Russia. The opposite is true, and no amount rushing to arm Ukrainian civilians so they can temporarily slow the Russian advance will change that.

So from the Russian perspective, there is no reason to consider peace at all until their security concerns are satisfied, right?

It was fun. I wish they’d bring it back if no other reason than entertainment value.

This thread is a complete dumpster fire. Endless shite flinging with a post or 2 of actual information sprinkled in.

It would be quite boring here, if everyone believed Ukraine was winning.

Some of you really hate diversity of thought.

Exactly the point l was going to make. But it’s not a question. That is their purpose…

You haven't provided any. All you've done is wholesale regurgitating Russian propaganda without thinking anything through. If you despised the thread because you think posters are deep-throating Ukraine, you are doing the same with Russia and what's more, being dishonest about it. It's a pretty boring viewpoint too.

The world is full of people who crave feel good messages. Anything that hits that button.

Life is easier to people when its black and white, and easily explainable.

Yep. It would be less boring if these Russia trolls would start off by listing off and commenting on the lies and errors that Putin has made so far.

Diversity of thought for the Russian trolls would include acknowledging that their diplomats looks like fools on the world stage and their military has looked weak in spite of overwhelming numbers.

Commenting on the burden that this unnecessary war is putting on ordinary Russian citizens would definitely be less boring.

Most of them are the exact thing they rail against on the PT board. Two sides of the same coin.

I just want to follow and discuss the war which at this point, neither side is winning. Arguments can be made for either side on who is losing less.

If you could remove all the troll posts, this is a good thread for following the war...which is its purpose.

Exactly. But it’s not by accident. And when the efforts to derail the thread are ignored, then they increase the agitation. Openly stating that the thread is worthless is a dead giveaway. It’s like clockwork.

They are in the same boat as all the liberal LGBTQXYZ loonies who want to tell us what we should think.

Two sides of the same coin.

A winnable strategy for the Ukes is to wear the orcs down. After all, they have a continuing supply of weapons and training from the West. The orcs have only their outdated stockpile to run through.

The Ukes seem to have settled into a pattern of frontline resistance combined with behind-the-line shelling with long range artillery picking off ammo depots, large gatherings of the invaders and their equipment, strategic enemy supply line infrastructure and, of course, any General who gets within their range of fire.

In the long term this will be a winnable strategy. Russia will be forced at some point to change its “special military operation” to a declared war or slink out of Ukraine.

They will continue to add pressure to the relationship between Pootin’ and his supporters. He’s already proved that he’s a bad dictator who can’t assemble a decent war machine and Russia’s economy is collapsing.

I think the ceremony for the change of dictators in Russia includes a bullet just behind and slightly above the right ear.

I mean, I'd prefer to talk about it with respect to the geopolitical issues. But apparently our resident scholars think that Russia will negotiate peace while at the same time Ukraine will lose regardless of what it does, thereby undermining any idea that Russia would be a willing partner in negotiation right now, with no evidence offered that Russia would actually abide by such an agreement. The blame reflects back on the West regardless of how Russia behaves, which is a consistent viewpoint that I don't quite understand. And it is a warped view of geopolitics.

I'm not saying the US is good or the West is full of noble leaders or some nonsense like these people would likely ascribe (and have ascribed to me previously). I'm saying that in the world of geopolitics, which is anarchic and cutthroat, no one is guided by anything other than self-interest. What I guess many can't stand is realizing that their self-interest isn't necessarily part of the US's ruling class self-interest. And suffice it to say, it wouldn't be part of the Russian ruling class's self-interest either.

Just like in all conflicts, regular people bear the most weight of the suffering. Does anyone really think that those in the US, Ukrainian, Western European, or Russian elite have had to miss a meal because of what is going on? Or make sacrifices that commiserate to what regular people have to go through?

Civilian deaths aren't moving any of the elite on either side, because fundamentally, to them, people are replaceable.

Russia is making somewhere between 33 and 17 dollars per barrel today. I guess that is winning for some folks

Of course there’s reason to consider peace. They have expended tremendous resources and suffered major casualties despite what their state media has said.

I normally don't post these types of videos, but in this one, you can see the Javelin missile clearly before impact. His buddy RUNTOFF.
