ISW update
quote:
Key Takeaways
Russian forces continued to launch unsuccessful assaults northwest of Slovyansk and conducted offensive operations east of Siversk from the Lysychansk area.
Russian forces continued localized attacks northwest of Kharkiv City, likely in an effort to defend Russian ground lines of communication (GLOCs) in the area.
Russian forces continue to face personnel and equipment shortages, relying on old armored personnel carriers and launching new recruitment campaigns.
Russian forces continued to set conditions for the annexation of Donbas, Kharkiv Oblast, and southern Ukraine.
quote:
Russian-backed occupation authorities in Kharkiv Oblast stated that Kharkiv Oblast is an “inalienable part of Russian land,” indicating that the Kremlin likely intends to annex part or all of Kharkiv Oblast.
quote:
The Kremlin has likely used a leaked letter from mothers demanding the ban of journalist activity on the frontlines to promote self-censorship among pro-Russian milbloggers and war correspondents.

The Kremlin faces challenges directly censoring pro-Russian milbloggers and war correspondents but will likely continue to look for opportunities to promote self-censorship

Russia used 412,000 2-1/2 ton trucks furnished by the USA. The average usage of a T-34 before it went kaput was 300 miles. Russian tank crews preferred the Sherman of which they had thousands. At least the T-34 had interchangeable parts (manufacturing assembly line designed by USA) as opposed to German tanks which were each had fitted.
BTW, the famous Red Ball Express supply lines in western Europe used 6,000 of those same trucks.

It's because Lima Bean has nothing actually substantive. Everything he puts forward can be easily debunked. He is just repeating what he sees likely from Russian milbloggers on Telegram or RT (Russia Today)

I’m aware of that.
The Soviet Union would have lost the war without lend lease.

They only thing reliable they made was the AK47. Not very accurate but can be dropped in the mud repeatedly and still put lead down range.
Their manufacturing has been about quantity more than reliability. Their blue collar skills are atrocious, but they can do EXACTLY what they are told, except quality is not there.

Their tank factories are literally idle. While losing 1000 armored vehicles a month. They don't have the chips or the CPUs for thermal gunsights or targeting computers.
You shouldn’t dismiss a claim out of hand, but where is the evidence for it? Three easy things to check, look at what critics of the war in Russia are saying. Are they talking about equipment shortages? The second, what do you see in combat footage? Are the Russians short? Finally, what are the Ukrainian soldiers saying in interviews with reporters? That’s a good source of minimally filtered information.
The answer to that is, critics complain about the size of the invasion force, but they don’t talk about a lack of armor, videos show heavy armor use, and the interviews - and this is a constant, complain about the heavy Russian advantage in armor.
I have thought about this a little bit, and I think it’s projection in a simple propaganda way. Ukraine is very short on tanks now, they’ve taken crippling losses, and it’s a way to paper over fears. They’re saying, in effect, don’t worry it’s just as bad for the Russians.

I realize the media is that saying that, but then there are the videos, taken by ordinary people, of long trains carrying brand new tanks to the Donbass.
When Iraq invaded Kuwait it was reported that the Iraqi soldiers entered a hospital and killed babies in incubators. I believe they allegedly, threw them on the ground? It’s been a while.
The story was a fake. Cooked up to sell the war.
We do that. A lot. And the British do it even more.

Just admit, you’re scared about this war.

What did any of that have to do with the way you keep twisting the way SPR a sale down works?

quote:None of that has anything to do with your continued lies and/or misunderstanding of the SPR stuff.
Or I understand the warmongering and where it will end. While it won’t be quite as bad as this due to our farmland and resources, go look at what is going on in Sri Lanka right now. Or to a lesser extent the Netherlands. Or Albania.
We will be experiencing some variation of that in the near future. And whenever I say that we should be saving cash for that and not blowing it mindlessly in a war in Ukraine, I’m the enemy. Maybe I know something you don’t, Kork. I’m seriously just warning you and not insulting you. I firmly believe I’m trying to help you prepare.
I remember screaming from the rooftops when we disrupted the supply lines in March 2020 that we were going to kill more starving people to death. This is coming to fruition live even if it’s not in our country yet. Millions will starve to death this year due to what we did with Covid.
I will not shut the frick up if I firmly believe what I’m saying will save lives and our country. Sorry if it’s to the detriment of Ukraine, but I stand where I stand and I am not a fricking coward. I will not die a coward, and I hate nothing more than a coward.

Easiest way to know you've prevailed in an argument is when the guy on the other side starts calling names and hurling insults.
Or, would you care to posit a well thought out counter point with some facts and solid reasoning?

quote:I don't see anybody defending Biden. All I see is you refusing to acknowledge that your "selling our strategic reserve to the enemy" refrain is nonsense.
Oh, you’re still going to defend Biden and his crackhead son with selling off the SPR to the CCP? He stole and sold a hundred million dollars worth our strategic reserve that WE, not Joe Biden, that WE bought and sold to our biggest enemy.
Sorry, you’re a fricking pussy if you defend that. Honestly really a traitor, but if it funds your bullshite war here, then keep it up is your mentality. frick off defending selling our strategic reserve to the enemy.
At least you aren't pretending that we "gave" it to them anymore.
