A few war updates beyond Ukraine.
Maybe related or maybe not:
This one is in Ukraine, but involves other nations

There is a north south highway running along a north south ridge just to the east of Sloviansk for miles. That seems likely as the defensive position as troops make a fighting retreat, degrading advancing Russian forces while doing so.
England performed similar which Japan's attack on Imphal, India in 1944 thus defeating Japan before advancing eastward into Burma. As Japan advanced so did the effectiveness of its forces decline.

Who gives a frick we have tons of them and can send them a bunch more, and weapon systems the Russians can’t even dream of, but will require our assistance to operate. (Military Contractors)
We should just send them about 30 midrange tactical Nukes and a few dozen neutron bombs (yes we made them after all) and and this bullshite. And send about 100 full range to Taiwan too. Send the message you will all die a horrible death first mfers.
why? Im about as anti russian as anyone in this thread....but why would we want to do that? The ukraines are the last people we could trust in this fight.
i mean its essentially bad guys invaded by other bad guys. both countries are run by pieces of shite.
right now, other than goods pricing, the war has very little effect on the average american......arm ukraine with nukes and that changes.
also as much as i want Ukraine to win, frick that 750billion dollar reconstruction plan. We arent paying for that shite.

They are certainly doing their best to poke Poland over and over when you combine Russian and Belarusian activity.

North Vietnam did this to graves of S. Vietnamese soldiers shortly after the war. They flattened entire cemeteries with ARVN soldiers with bulldozers. Erased all traces of the graves.

IMO, this is more about Kazakhstan's president basically biitch slapping Putin at a recent conference than against Europe. That oil also goes to India, not so much the USA from the pipeline terminal.
The pipeline is partially owned by Chevron and XOM to transport their crude oil to a Russian terminal on the Black Sea. The only alternative is to ship via pipeline to China. The chemistry of the oil is good for refineries as is, but is blended with Urals crude at the terminal before being loaded aboard ship at offshore mooring buoys.
Interesting that a client is about to build a refinery for Kazakhstan, which has been in the works for 5 years. Made in the USA in modules all except field erected storage tanks.

Well I guess NATO isn't a problem anymore? But it is? I can't keep Russia's NATO reasoning straight anymore.

"The accession of Sweden and Finland to NATO will narrow the opportunity for a peaceful dialogue in the Baltic region, will complicate the situation there," - said the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Alexey Zaitsev.

Yes and no, the Russians are using 10X the ammo that Ukraine is.
Posted on 7/6/22 at 9:11 am to CitizenK
I heard a British guy say yesterday that Russia was firing up to 20,000 artillery shells per day. Is that credible or bull?
Posted on 7/6/22 at 9:50 am to StormyMcMan
Yeah that’s bullshite if that is their proof. It looks like someone lit a firework not destroyed a missile launcher. The Russians are just being Russians. Lying is second nature to them. On that note though we should be giving them the long range missiles so they can stay far out of range of anything Russia has. They are being smart only using them at night though. They can fire and haul arse in no time at all.

Ukraine has stated that 10X the rounds fired from artillery by Russians. Firing that heavily is going to burn through some tubes. Seems to me that they will need to replace those howitzers soon, but looking for quick results. I think that the M777's are good for about 1500 or 2000 rounds each before tube needs replacement.

Estimates range between 50k to 80k shells a day.
IIRC, the Ukrainians have said 60k.

That’s typical Russian doctrine. Shell the land they want to concur until there’s nothing left, send in their cannon fodder infantry to get destroyed then call that victory. They are running low on ammunition though if they are having to look to Belarus for more and there’s nothing Lima or Winston or Stidham can do to argue that point. If they had enough reserves of their own they wouldn’t be asking Belarus.

They did the same thing at Chernobyl because it makes it much more difficult to try and take back. One positive for the Russians this time though, their troops won't be able to dig in radioactive soil.

Sure there is. They'll keep saying that Russia is keeping the gloves on, are being super cautious to minimize civilian and military casualties (why the advance is slow), and that the sanctions aren't working because reasons.
And if you point out any fallacy of their reasoning you are just an idiot believing Ukrainian/Western propaganda and they don't have any counterpoints, or if they do it's straight Russian propaganda or that Russia could just walk over Ukraine tomorrow if they took the gloves off.
