CDC says get the kids back in school.

Conclusion

Schools are an important part of the infrastructure of our communities, as they provide safe, supportive learning environments for students, employ teachers and other staff, and enable parents, guardians, and caregivers to work.  Schools also provide critical services that help meet the needs of children and families, especially those who are disadvantaged, through supporting the development of social and emotional skills, creating a safe environment for learning, identifying and addressing neglect and abuse, fulfilling nutritional needs, and facilitating physical activity.  School closure disrupts the delivery of in-person instruction and critical services to children and families, which has negative individual and societal ramifications.  The best available evidence from countries that have opened schools indicates that COVID-19 poses low risks to school-aged children, at least in areas with low community transmission, and suggests that children are unlikely to be major drivers of the spread of the virus.  Reopening schools creates opportunity to invest in the education, well-being, and future of one of America’s greatest assets—our children—while taking every precaution to protect students, teachers, staff and all their families.

Are you believing the CDC now because they side you?

Not sure I implied my thoughts one way or the other. Just shared the information.

What’s your stance? Do you not believe this because it’s not on your “side”?

The left and the media loves the CDC. Surely they will be behind this.

"Internal documents from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned K-12 school and university reopenings would be the “highest risk” for the spread of coronavirus, according to a New York Times report. The report was issued the same week Trump and his administration pushed for schools to reopen.

The Times released the CDC’s 69-page document marked “For Internal Use Only” and found “noticeable gaps” in all of the K-12 reopening plans it reviewed.

The report was shelved and a new, less stringent plan was released by the CDC"

How is it wrong?

I like the idea of defunding the schools and getting the money back to parents so they can decide where and how to educate their children.

A non underlying risk little 9 year one girl died yesterday in FL from COVID-19.

Add that to the fact that the newest data says kids 10-18 catch and spread thing the same as adults...

I know kids need to get back in school, but a phased approach is way smarter than forcing them all back in at the same time.

Dead kids (underlying conditions or not )is something I don't want on my watch, especially when there is other options.

Just forcing them back in bc "they need to go back" is careless.

The next few months are going to make or break the reopening. I wish the best

If that is true, whoever wrote that memo should be fired immediately. There is NO evidence from anywhere in the world that supports that.

Don't change OT, downvote me saying I don't want dead kids and we need to go back to school.

Are you this whiny about child deaths during the annual flu season.

Well now you're going to get downvoted for whining about downvotes.

I didn’t downvote, but there will always be extremely unfortunate and very rare cases of kids dying from flu, meningitis, infections, accidents, etc. COVID is not unique in this case. Yet a large portion of the population is insinuating we want to kill kids if we are open to the risk of school in the fall.

"Putnam County Health Officer Mary Garcia told CNN that she did not know if the girl had any preexisting health conditions."
