Old enough to be a WWI vet. Old enough to have survived the Titanic and actually remember the experience. The last of the survivors died years ago and were only babies when it sank.

There is a reason the average lifespan was like 50 just a hundred years ago.

You're right. And the answer is high infant mortality rate.

She is 5 years older than my grandmother, who lived to 92 and has been dead for almost 20 years.

92 would be plenty enough for me.

There is a scientist out there who says the first human who will live to be 1000 years old has been born already. And........get this.........is probably now in their 60s.

Hey, I just read it, not sure if I believe it.

I think I read or heard something that the human body could live til about 120, but stressors and other perils don't allow us to make it that long

You have to be so ready to die at 117. At that point you've probably buried everyone you care about including your kids and probably even some grandkids.

This is the from my great grandmother's funeral a couple of years ago. She was 110, and look at how many of her kids and grandkids had already died.

she lived through the fascism, Mussilioni, Hitler, the cubs entire world series streak. when she was my age ww2 hadn't even started and would not for another 5 years. then she would still live another 80 years.

you really think someone living in a shithole place could still be alive without any proper medical care?

What's insane to me is that 10 of her 13 children died before her.
