I have thin corneas, so I had to have a different variation done. Took 3 days for the blurriness to go away. I went from knowing the first letter is E because it's always E to 20/20 in 1 eye and 20/25 in the other. At dusk my depth perception is a little off, but other than that no complaints.

Been about 10-12 years and have not had any setbacks.

With that said, I had a friend that went to the same doctor 3 months before I had mine done, and his eyes reverted back within 5 years. His corneas were the proper thickness, so he was able to get the procedure done that heals within 24 hours.

I had the procedure on both eyes the summer of 2000 and vision is still great. Recovery? I had the procedure done in the morning and was able to watch TV without glasses by dinnertime. I had a little irritation for a few days akin to when you have an eyelash in your eye but after that - nada. I paid for it out of pocket (no insurance coverage for it) and was some of the best money I ever spent.

Once done, it is great for viewing thumbnails on porn sites without having to open and enlarge each one........someone said.....to me.....at a game or something.

Did it in 2005. Vision is still perfect to this day

I saw somebody talk about PRK, I had that done too. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. I was in constant pain for like three days. But once that pain subsided, hoo boy vision was great.

Had LASIK done 18 years ago by Dr. Woo. Like many others have said, she's awesome and it's the best money I've ever spent. I would do it again without hesitation.

"Why get LASIK when you can get LAHayeSIK baw?"

Lahaye wouldn't do mine. Too much correction needed. Sent me to Dr. Hebert in Baton Rouge who had the "latest."

That was 19 years ago. Still seeing great.

Lahaye only does PRK now fwiw (due to the very small % of people that have had issues with Lasik)

I got PRK with him a year ago and it has been great. Couldnt imagine having to wear contacts anymore

Same here. Got Lahaye PRK.
Painful for 3 days. Vision at night with bright lights suck but other than that, well worth the money

So how old were all of you? I am 28 and have been wearing contacts for 5 years and absolutely hate it. I am considering seeing if I'm a candidate.

I had it over the summer. I was seeing just fine the next day during the day. I still have issues with glare at night. I was told that it is normal and may take up to a year to fully adjust. Overall I am satisfied and wish I had it done 10 years ago.

Had mine done today with Dr. Woo. Went in at 8 and was on the way home by 9. Painless. I can see but everything is still foggy, definitely a glare around lights. I was told that should subside over the next 48 hours but it may take longer to fully go away. My vision insurance gave me a 15% discount so make sure to ask.

I got LASIK about 20 years ago from a doctor who did a bunch of the 49ers (his office is near 49er HQ in Santa Clara). The names I remember are Terrell Owens and Bill Walsh. My prescription was exactly the same as BigB0882.

Once my eyes fully recovered after a few weeks, I noticed that they were a little drier than before, but I never have to use eye drops, so the difference is very minor. My night vision is fine. My distance vision was razor sharp for about 15 years, and now slowly has gotten slightly worse. I still drive fine without glasses, but I might have a hard time passing the DMV vision test. It has been totally worth it. However, I would not do the "touch up" LASIK that they say you can do. Taking the chance once was enough.

One of the women at my office had it done. She was happy with the outcome.

I wouldn't do it personally. The risks are low, but I can use glasses with no risk at all.
