There are homeless people all over NO and BR literally pissing and shitting in the streets; why is that not being addressed?

Because it's much easier to just throw the pot smoker in T-Roy's private jail instead. "See, we're doing something!"

He had to, in this state.

The things this man spends his time and the people's tax dollars on is reprehensible.

What a failure of a governor so far.

Other than COVID I thought he was ok…

I thought he was sort of a "do nothing" governor. Unfortunately the status quo is the last thing this state needs. That's not an endorsement for Landy either. I didn't vote for either.

It’ll be interesting to see how many more people are going to leave Louisiana in the next few years.

Not sure how you build a national platform by eliminating all voters except the church lady.

DeSantis, while he has some headline grabbing political point scoring agendas, actually has crafted some excellent economic policy for his state (or his team has). He uses a lot more common sense than a guy like Landry who is some misguided religious big government conservative that is setting our state back 30 years.

You might want to read what was in the “opening American up again guidelines”

The guidelines called for stricter measures than what JBE imposed

I’ll link it for you. Trumps own policy was full of draconian measures and massive restrictions

The state needs to figure out how to attract more jobs, but I won't hold my breath.

This is why I gladly voted for Stephen Waguespack. Bringing jobs to LA was his platform. Not sure he would be any better, but at least he had good ideas.

Will take reducing the size of government and associated spending, which will never happen.

Landry is delusional if he really thinks he's got national prospects. The rest of the country isn't going to take that mush-mouthed motherfricker seriously.

People seem to forget this for some reason. We were way better off here than most of the country, especially "blue" states.

The weed thing should’ve been settled in the 90s, but we’re still talking about this stuff. It does really weird me out that I could be in prison right now for smoking weed in my 20s if this were a different time.

I also don’t get the whole thing. Alcohol has destroyed so many more lives and families than weed ever did. Still legal. Cigarettes are legal. Adderall is legal. I don’t get it.

Why?

If we cannot agree that throwing countless men in prison over the use or possession of marijuana over the last God knows how many years was wrong and that we fricked a lot of peoples lives off I dont think there is anything else to talk about.

Alcohol flows like water in Louisiana and this guy wants to leave all first time pot offenders locked up.

He can at least count right?

because this isn't happening and hasn't happened in a long time. no one goes to prison for possession of marijuana unless they have a lot of other legal issues.

ultimately, it *should* be legal, just as gay marriage *should* be legal, but there are ramifications to normalizing this stuff. americans aren't what they used to be, and neither is marijuana, and i really don't think it's a good thing for the vast majority of people.

also, let's be real, you're probably a trashy idiot if you're getting caught with weed these days.

100% agreed here but throwing these morons in prison isnt the answer.
