I saw this talk (and others) here in Richmond. Dr. Sedore has been traveling all around the US trying to visit as many Civil War monuments as possible. I learned that outside of Pennsylvania, there are more Union CW monuments in Mississippi than in any other state. And there appears to be some elaborate monuments and parks memoralizing the Civil War in Mississippi, particularly Vicksburg.

This is a little known fact, The CSA banned the importation of slaves from overseas in 1861 about 1 month before Ft. Sumpter. They did allow slaves to be brought in from the territories. So the territories could get slaves from overseas and then resale to CSA member states.

Vicksburg is full of various monuments...it's the western equivalent of Gettysburg, where you get to the point where you are starting to ask where the monument is to the 199th Quartermaster Underwater Mess Kit Repair Company of the Rhode Island Militia...

Wouldn't this be an insult to the dead slaves on the slave ship? You know, Kind of like desecrating a grave site?

Doesn't matter. Pretty much all of those STILL complaining about slavery were born here and they're still not happy. But then, those kind of people will NEVER be satisfied. I just kinda ignore them, like my grumpy neighbor. They just want attention. If you ignore them, they'll eventually move on to bothering someone else for it.

It seems at this point he is only tryng to stoke the oppositions anger. It's a shame most people on the opposite side of this issue have jobs/families and not the time to protest and make a scene like the other side does.
