Googled places on the "streetcar" line and came up with this.
You must have missed the part where I stated that the two terms were interchangeable. You said that New Orleanians call them streetcars because they are uneducated. I merely pointed out that various other major cities also call them streetcars. You act like streetcar is a New Orleans specific thing... but it's not.
It can be called a streetcar or a trolley... neither is incorrect. New Orleans "streetcars" existed before the invention of the trolley bar which is probably why that is the preferred nomenclature. Like I said before, other cities prefer streetcar because they call their wheeled vehicles trolleys.

Surely, this backs up my point.
A place called The Trolley Stop in New Orleans backs up your point that New Orleanians are uneducated because they use the term streetcar? OK.

Found the post

As I understand it, Lee Circle with the R. Lee statue was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 by the Sidney Barthelemy administration. The PT Beauregard memorial is also on the National Register. The Mayor, City Council, et al do not have the authority to move either without the approval of the SHPO and must meet the Federal Guidelines to do so. According to the federal regulations this may entail the recreation of a similar "Lee Circle" in an equally prominent area with all appurtenances as the entire Circle is on the register Moving it would entail a full recreation of the entire Circle with Street Car routes, mound, monument, marble obelisk, etc. Nice political rhetoric but I am sure that the administration either knows this or should have know it. When the Laws kick in that are requirements of being on the Federal Register the blame will then be placed on the Federal government when in fact the City actively campaigned within recent times to impose those restrictive covenants to insure its longevity as it is presently constructed and displayed. A simple case of jumping on the bandwagon when reality dictates that it can be done but with 10's of millions of dollars to do so and in the end you will have the same memorial in an equally prominent area as the law dictates.

Can't be any human. Something can be dug up on everybody and Jesus is too divisive.

That would be funny as frick if they couldn't modify or move it

I don't know why the city wants to take down the Beauregard statue. Just read his wiki bio. He was a staunch Democrat and one of the founding fathers of Louisiana Lottery. Hell, he'd fit right in with Mitch and the gang.
Seriously though, the dude led an incredible life.

I am going to go out on a limb, and say that reading and reading comprehension are not strengths that city officials possess

SJW - "Confederate stuff makes people racist"
Democratic politicians - "We need to remove all traces of the Confederacy!"
Pretty much like that...

We have about two weeks left of the rebel flag racist media frenzy. Then everyone will forget about it and move on to the next thing.

Eh, maybe it isn't backing my point, but it sort of proves you wrong that no one from New Orleans calls it the trolley.

No it doesn't... because I never said that. You should go back and reread our conversation because I think you're confused.

Meh, whoever said it. Thought it was you. Apologies.
Posted on 7/9/15 at 10:34 am to terd ferguson
The trolley is only for us tourists anyway. We should get to name it.

Write a letter to Mitch telling him that the term streetcar offends you...
Posted on 7/9/15 at 10:44 am to Honest Tune
Did they mention in the bio that he was mulatto?
Posted on 7/9/15 at 10:46 am to redbaron
No, but I knew that, and I think it's fitting with the lunacy of the whole movement. My money is on the statues remaining.

Wow, just read the bio and saw this...

I've heard that dorm was in bad shape, guess they HAVE to reenovate it now.

You joke, but I wouldn't be shocked to see a movement soon to stop LSU from being referred to as the Fighting Tigers.
