I hope to see more posts like this.
Paretti is as good of a dealer and service department as I have ever dealt with in my 30+ years of buying new cars.
If Rover has improved that much, that will give me one more option from them.

The section 179 bonus depreciation rules are to be extended from this new tax law which can be fairly substantial income tax savings for the business owner that buys a qualifying vehicle. I purchased a Cayenne Diesel in 13 and saved @ 25k in tax payment that year.
I'm considering trading for another Cayenne before year end but may reconsider. My buddy told me today that Porsche may cease all diesel imports after this last fiasco and I'm very satisfied with mine. He just bought a base model.
Eta: I filled up yesterday for 1.95 a gallon. Diesel was always .40-.50 more for gasoline per gallon!

I don't think we've confirmed that the limit has been raised from $25K.

My source indicates it has been reinstated.

He has a Ranger Rover, not a Land Rover, but seriously, look up Doug DeMuro on Jalopnik. He bought a Range Rover with an extended warranty from CarMax and my God the maintenance expenses are unbelievable. CarMax screwed themselves with that warranty.

If I drive 51%+ of my mileage on a vehicle for work, but don't own the business, there is no way to take his write off?

WARRANTY
Under the Land Rover Approved Certified Limited Warranty, your Land Rover vehicle will be covered for up to 6 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first. Coverage begins on the vehicle's original in-service date and zero miles as reported to Jaguar Land Rover North America, LLC. (For complete coverage details, please see your Land Rover Retailer.)
One lesson I learned is why would any sane human being purchase a brand new Land Rover? 4 years or 50k limited warranty on a new car versus buying it CPO which is 6 years or 100k miles for comprehensive warranty.
Their warranty is totally FUBAR on a new one but crazy generous on a CPO.
Every new Land Rover vehicle is covered by a New Vehicle Limited Warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. Each vehicle also carries a six-year/unlimited-mileage corrosion perforation warranty, plus various emissions warranties.

From a shade tree mechanics perspective, Rovers were pretty junky up through 2005. I love them, but they never had the R&D money to do it right. And I say this as someone who's owned a Disco and four different classics. The last of which is on its third engine.
The LR3 is solid though. And the Range Rover, starting with the 06 model, is very good.
To each is own, but buying a brand new car makes poor financial sense.

They had to do stuff like that to prop up the resale. Also, this gave them a mechanism to sell all the vehicles coming back in from their lease programs.
Everything I'm hearing points to them being much better after 2012-2013.
I know the Jag V-8 they use is rock solid (AJ133).

Thanks VetteGuy. I've heard the same thing anything after 13-14 supposedly is better designed with less hassles. Porsche has an awesome CPO program warranty too. Cayenne S is the only model from them that qualifies and have been hearing some great things about that car as well. Seems smaller than the HSE Sport but the CPO program warranty seems like a no-brainer since both cars would be covered for the 3 years I'll own them.
"Porsche's certified pre-owned program is easily the best in the industry. Like many luxury-car certified pre-owned programs, it offers 6 years or 100,000 miles of bumper-to-bumper coverage for any vehicle that's still under factory warranty. But if a used car's factory warranty is expired (4 years or 50,000 miles), Porsche will also offer an additional 2 years or 50,000 miles of coverage. In other words, while Porsche's CPO plan is offered on vehicles up to 6 years old, some certified pre-owned Porsche models can be up to 8 years old and still be covered by the automaker's factory warranty. And there are other benefits, too, including a zero deductible for warranty repairs, full warranty transferability to the next owner, 24-hour roadside assistance and trip interruption coverage."

I can see this being the case.
When TATA bought Jaguar from Ford, Ford had already straightened out the quality issues at Jaguar. ( "bulldozed the factory in Coventry")
It took TATA a bit to get LR headed in the right direction, but it looks like they are.

Land Rover 2015 HSE Sport is not a car. There's the Range Rover HSE Sport. And yes that's a badass car, but seriously overpriced. You really want to spend $70K on a car? If you're filthy rich then go for it, because Land Rover makes unique cars that are worth paying for if you have money to blow and they do feel special. A lot of the people on here dissing them are boners who probably got some used 2008 Range Rover for $20,000 that was a total lemon. You won't have those problems with the 2015's. But damn if you want a Land Rover you can get a cheaper model that's almost as cool, and for 70K I would be getting like a used M5 or something like that myself.
There's also the Land Rover Discovery Sport which is brand new in 2015, there's it's predecessor the LR2 which they stopped this year, and there's the Range Rover Evoque. These are all way cheaper. The Evoque is pretty much a chick car, so that's out. But the Discovery and LR2 are both pretty sweet and like $30K cheaper. My GF got the Discovery Sport and I love it, it's frickin sweet and looks awesome with the black package. A lot of housewives have these but they have pretty much any luxury SUV you can think of. If you get the right color or throw on a roof rack they look badass.

Money wise, yes, probably. I hate what they've done with the styling though.
The new models are downright vulgar.

Bought an LR3 in 08 and it ran like a clock. My ex wife has it now, well maybe has it because she was recently arrested and it is going to get impounded, but while I had it it ran really well...

Don't believe everything you read on a CPA's site. Do the research yourself. All Cayenne's qualify, barely. The GVW of a Cayenne v6 is 6,096 lbs.
