Like I said....Louisiana won't even build a fricking control structure on the Amite to prevent flooding.

And that's basically the same strategy used by cities all over the country for the past 200 years to control rivers, ameliorate flooding, and preserve drinking water.

Fun Fact - We could fill the lakes back up in less than a year.

Just cut California off.

My understanding is that Vegas isn’t heavily dependent on Lake Mead. Apparently they do a good job of capturing all rainwater.

California politicians use the "climate change" buzz words because they get federal dollar bills.

True. Humans do not have that much of a direct water demand. But we have a massive indirect demand in terms of agriculture. That's where California comes into play.

Legally you can't. They have agreements in place.

Louisiana should do the same. We have big needs too.

California needs more illegal aliens. That will solve their water consumption demands.

This is solely due to the leadership of the state of California and their failed policies. There is no reason for droughts or issues with demand for water. Yet, California continues to put itself in this situation because it only listens to environmental wackjobs.

There is a whole lotta truth there. We have signs around here “more dam storage” and it’s jist common sense. If we built more storage things could turn around fairly quickly and the dry years wouldn’t be as bad.

As an FYI the major growing regions which are primarily in the Central Valley northward and the coast don’t get water from the Colorado. You will find some of that when you get to SoCal but the vast majority of production isn’t part of that system.

Of course it will, just as soon as the pipeline is built from the Mississippi River out there, it will fill in no time.

I’m not arguing that Ag isn’t the driving force of water usage in the state. But I’ve seen argued on the Poliboard that the Colorado is being sucked dry because of Ag and that’s just false. Thus the FYI for anyone reading.

Just to think, all that water in the Pacific Ocean that a desalination plant could turn into drinking water, but they won’t build them. The Saudi’s can figure it out but not the Californians. Let them wither on the vine.

Climate activists would rather save a million fish than 10 million people. Despite the fact that a million fish are nothing in the scheme of things.
