I don’t think it’s fake. I grew up in LaSalle Parish. This type of accent is very common there.

When I was young I would do the same thing when I met folks in a professional environment.

All I can tell folks is if I picked up my phone and was able to reach her tonight, she would speak to me and sound exactly as she did on television.
