This is a perfect example why Louisiana will always be a shite hole. Rather than put someone knowledgeable in charge of bridges, Landry appointed a fat retard mouth piece.
And great to see someone from a wildly different area of the State than Landry is from get that job.

I grew up in Raceland. Actually went to school with Archie. I know all about Lafourche. Are you saying there is a lot in Lafourche? Driving through now is quite depressing.

Brennan and his brother Nicholas are going to run against each other! Lol. Some good guys that love their community.

Interesting to see how Mitch does in the interim. Another DTB dude!

Will all bridges go a mile out of the way and then take a sharp turn?

I see what you did there.

But that was DOTD’s fault. They designed the new Leeville bridge as an expressway and was supposed to construct proper on and off ramps for LA 1. When the bids came back over budget in 2004 nearly a hundred million dollars, because of the post Ivan construction squeeze on bridges. Also, Katrina happened and added even more cost over runs. They cut the project into pieces and cut as many corners as possible to get it under budget and built in phases. Hence the overwater 90 degree turns.

I think they spent more money trying to fix that frickup than had they accepted the original bid.

But in 2 years all that will be gone as the bridge between Golden Meadow and Leeville is under construction. The enter bridge bridge between Golden Meadow and Fourchon will be 18 miles long.

Will Bryan Fontenot go for sheriff or parish president is the real question?

He won’t run for parish president. He wants that sheriff spot bad but didn’t want to run against Webre. I think he runs against him in the next election even if Webre doesn’t call it quits.

Definitely would be one of my priorities, for Lafourche.

Biggest cost would be the overpasses over Bayou Lafourche and intracoastal. I would settle for a 2 lane bypass with shoulders following the old railway or Entergy lines along 308.

I believe he and webre made a deal. Bryan wouldn't run against him last election so webre would set the tenure record. Webre wont run and will endorse Bryan next run.

Hell, I may run for parish president.

That thing is moving quickly I would’ve never guessed it would be another 2 years.
