I used to sometimes walk our's by a house with a big fenced yard and a huge German Shepherd. He had to weigh 120 pounds and would charge us every time we went by. He would hang over the top of the fence but had been trained not to go over. Sounded like he was going to tear us apart. After a couple of times, my little 45lb girl would just ignore him. Wouldn't even look at him. Then one day, she turned and charged him so quickly it yanked the leash out of my hand. Pure shock and awe. He ran off to their patio and didn't mess with her any more.

That lady was smiling about her actions the entire time. It was not water. If it was then she should have shown them.
There was no reason for taking that action. And it’s absurd to defend her actions in anyway. So yes, you spray someone’s pet or child unnecessarily then you should be held accountable and prove what you used on them.
Imagine someone poisoning your pet or child and you confront them and they say it’s just water, bye.

I’m genuinely asking, because maybe I missed it. Are they trash for not beating the ever living shite out of her? I feel like that could have been viewed as trashy. Or are they trash for confronting someone who possibly harmed their fenced in dog for no good reason?

The full speed "shock and awe" charge is a great weapon. My Aussie has chased away some loose pitbulls using that technique.
