It's not a better education than LSU but we definitely see it as a better value. All around it's much cheaper than LSU, from food plans and tuition to books and fees.

Definitely a better value as I have a nephew that had acceptance offers to several big name schools but tech gave the best value for the same degree. Also the civil program seemed to have better resources. UNO grad here so no real dog in the fight just what I have observed. LSU may have a better “College” experience for the student but the $$ value definitely isn’t there for the degree earned.

How is that measured?

And did Tech have a Popping at the Pmac type welcome for their freshman?

Listen w/your eye.

My IOC recruits engineers from LSU, not La Tech.

LSU is letting a lot of kids in that flunk out after a couple of semesters.

HELL YES!!! Now you starting to get it Wizard of Smart.
Ruston is a safe, nice, small college town…the antithesis of trash Refineryville. Maybe that’s why Buccees chose it.

Tech has a much less “culturally diverse” student body. And my kid is happy about that.

At least one person is being honest about Tech in here

Or maybe it’s because Ruston had the highest bid.

Son just started at Tech and what I like is how they start the engineering curriculum from jump….not have 2 years of additional high school and then start.

He’ll have an engineering project during his first year also. He’ll have an opportunity to work closely with the College of Business on it, and they also team up on some competitions. Congrats to your son!
