Remember when “muh school shootings” was the biggest problem facing our children (like last year)? Now they want to defund the only people who can help them?

Just last year, L.A. county spent roughly 523 million dollars on housing the homeless and mental health initiatives.

I’m a Louisiana teacher and don’t know a single teacher in a teacher’s union.

While I agree with a few of their stances conceptually, their bluntly false characterization of the issues and bundling of these topics puts me on the other side of the aisle here

Yet the union goes even farther than those requests, calling for "local support" in the form of defunded police departments and the shuttering of charter schools.

This is an example as to why, as a teacher, I am not in a union.

I’m in a union for the legal coverage. Parents can be psycho and kids go home and make up/exaggerate things. My teacher salary can’t afford the retainer for a lawyer, heh.
