Well if you go back and look at the state of things when the constitution was written, the common person was self-sufficient and generally operated with the work or starve mentally. Also, people generally prioritized needs more appropriately than our current t society. The average person simply had more common sense back then.

If all those things are true, then it's fair to say the every man can vote model worked. I find myself siding more with the Hamiltonian view that voting should be restricted to land owners. Hell, not receiving government assistance as a voting requirement would go a long way to staving off the inevitable hole we are marching into.

I truly believe a representative form of government is still one of the best inventions of mankind.

Things aren't like that anymore, voting is done by stupid people to accomplish stupid ends in a stupid popularity contest.

frick Hamilton and frick voting. I say we have some sort of other way to determine our leadership, ACT scores or physical challenges or something. Anything other than who can raise the most money and give the best speech.

Well you believe wrong. Humans have invented countless other things that work better and more consistently. The fleshlight comes to mind.

Not when the state Constitution was penned by Edwin Edwards back in the 70's.

If you're talking about the founding of America, the average person couldn't vote. The only ones allowed to vote were property owners. There was good reason for that as most taxes at the local and state level were property taxes, only paid by property owners. If you didn't pay taxes, you had no say in how those dollars could be used.

I vote for the candidate with the best hot dogs. Most republicans think that those red weenies are good enough but I'm not getting on the voting bus for a hot dog I could get out of my fridge

however, Edwards hasn't shown any ability to craft a plan and bring all sides together.

He DID go to West Point, though.

Just thought you should know that.

Would love to see the hammer drop on those racist, thieving cast of COA characters along with Gary and the mayor...Hell, throw Matt Morris into that pile too.

Didn't you get the memo?

Mrs. Morris says it was all just a big misunderstanding. All 135 felony counts.
