In case you were wondering, Louisiana had 598 cases of chlamydia, 194 cases of gonorrhea, and 7.4 cases of syphilis. Making their ratio 799.4 case per 100,000 residents.
Mississippi finally beat us in something.

Mississippi topped the list, with 774 cases of chlamydia, 230 cases of gonorrhea, and 5 cases of syphilis. Making their ratio a staggering 1,009.8 cases per every 100,000 residents.

We'd be higher if they included HIV

Nuke north Baton Rouge and we drop to 47th in the country.

Hmmm, what is the common denominator....what could it be hmmmm.....lemme think...

I always assumed chlamydia & gonorrhea were WAY more common, the way they're talked up. That fear kept me from being a lot sluttier when I was single. Even among the high risk age groups, there's a pretty low chance of getting either.

The heat. Heat makes bitches horny and STDs spread like wildfire.

So are you saying you have become sluttier?

Catholicism?
Mississippi is the least Catholic state in the country.
This was the dumb part of the article:
quote:
staggering 1,009.8 cases per every 100,000 residents
If these writers could do simple arithmetic, they would realize that 1009.8 out of 100,000 is a whopping 1% of the population.

"Oh, no, it's ok...I only have 0.4 syphilis"

I was referring to Louisiana alone. Can't speak for states like Alaska.

Gonnorhea and the clap are pretty tame considering you can get rid of them.
what you should be worried about is herpes/HPV/HIV

This doesn't show the sluttiest.....it shows who has the most uneducated folks when it comes to understanding basic concepts of safe sex

There are approximately 2.844 million people in Mississippi so you would expect 28,440 cases of STDs. However, only about 2.07 million people are 18 or older, so it is closer to 1.4% of "adults."
If nearly 3 in every 200 adults have gonorrhea, chlamydia, or syphillis, think about how many people you come across each day that are infected. This also excludes HPV and herpes which are both much more common.
