Going from 17,000 sq feet to 5,000 is absolutely needed if smoke stores want to keep these products

Honestly, screw it, money is probably better off spent in the black market away from the real crooks.
You are my hero! for this statement, but I'm going to miss the THC frozen daiquiris at one store here in Ruston. I visited it and made purchases the day my mom came home from her retired teachers meeting, where the sheriff had warned about it.

He said Ruston junior high kids were buying candy that got them high in that store..The people I see in the store are mostly 50+ year old burnouts like myself, looking for something to help them sleep. The mushroom ones that say they have lion's maine are supposed to be good for your brain. They taste bad.

I'm trying to figure out which ones are the worst ones for getting kids high.

I don’t care if the benefit is there. Lions mane seems great from trying a few weeks.
Haven’t seen that type but will check that out.

Is this the puritanical "we shouldn't be ingesting that stuff" or is it the protection of the very closed, highly politicized(and very profitable) medical marijuana industry that only allows 10 dispensaries in the whole state of Louisiana. So if people don't live close to a dispensary they can go to the local vape shop and get some gummies or a Crescent 9 or Indigo drink to 1)get high, 2)help them sleep, 3)ease a little pain from any number of diseases including old age.
But instead we are going to grandstand in the "let's pretend we are important legislature" and be the moral police so some can campaign among their rural constituents and tell them how they are keeping them safe from those evil drugs
These guys probably don't even know that many of the early potent medicines & painkillers came from natural substances that were refined in the lab.
BTW, I am old and don't smoke the wacky weed nor do I have any interest in a pot business.

I look at it this way, previously, a loop hole allowed the sale of hemp products that the government never thought you'd be able to get high on. The 2018 farm bill had a loop hole too. Now, they essentially codified the sale of marijuana up to 8 milligram servings.

It's the first step to legalization imo. Can one fail a drug test with MJ where the state says it is legal to buy and consume? Next they'll have to change that law.

Yes, but the 50mg cans will be no more once the law gets signed

What about ordering online? Will online distributors only mail products under the serving size to Louisiana now? Is it illegal to possess over the serving size in the state, or only sell over the serving size limit?

And better question, do the people that voted even freaking know

100% yes

I worked for a company that had business units in multiple states where recreational is legal and we fired people a lot for it. It’s fricked up but that’s how it works. That might chill some if it get rescheduled but I doubt it changes for O&G or anything DOT related.

I would imagine only 1% of American companies drug test anymore. Pretty much only ones I know about locally are the plants

It’s way higher than that. I’ve been in white collar America for a while in the energy sector and almost all of those companies drug tested office personnel just like they do field people. They skim some costs by doing non-dot compliant tests but they still hit the office personnel at some %. I’ve taken dozens of drug tests in my career and I’m basically a finance bro.

ETA you were closer than I thought. Google says it’s a little below 2%. My industry bias is showing.

Yeh I’m a CPA in large consulting. Can’t think of a single client off hand that drug tests. Only ones I know of are the plants or any contractor that works in the plants

I’m 14 years in my career and haven’t take a single drug test and only engineering friends that work for DOW or Norco have ever taken one

Even healthcare no longer drug tests unless you have an incident while at work
