Louisiana republicans suck. No better than dems
Watching the Republicans argue for a hemp ban was like listening to dems argue for gun bans. Both sides are so clearly uneducated on the subject matter, and argue solely from emotion. I can't tell you how many republican legislators proudly spoke about how they've never consumed any thc in their life yet were so ready to deny it to the masses.

Will they have time to conference on the amended bill before the session ends?

I love it when proponents of a bill say that they don't know exactly how a bill or amendment is worded but "Their understanding" is XYZ. Their understanding isn't what goes into law. fricking dipshits.
Horseface Schlegel must have said that one hundred times. And that stupid Villio chick with her amendment that had the square foot clause that she specifically said it didn’t and Miller caught her.
But at least the children are safe.

So 952 is the only one still in play? At least that one isn’t near as restrictive, though still dumb.
The one pressley filed to outright get rid of it is finished?

Probably a request the alcohol mafia to disrupt the THC companies operations

So HB 952 and SB 237 effectively can’t work together? How is this going on?

237 is tabled. Effectively dead. No total ban.

Correct.

Pressley got his win via another bill very recently.

The only thing that was changing in her amendment was the square footage down to 5,000. The fact it hadn't been changed and she was speaking like it was means it was likely a clerical error.

Which, to anyone with a brain, perfectly exemplified at the perfect time how idiotic the mad rush of everything was.

A senator just said "We're here because of the children". The amount of bullshite is just unbelievable
If the bill is for "children", then crack down on the idiots selling and distributing it to kids, not the product.

I’ve been under water most of the day, but are they really coming back in on Sunday for this shite?

Legalize it, tax the shite out of it, have a very transparent chain of command of that tax revenue of which 100% goes directly into our school system. That's how you "protect the children", not by eliminating an industry. Other states will just get our money. These people voting to make this illegal and don't mention alcohol are truly evil, vile humans. They are on the take and should be thrown in jail. ETA: They should do this with alcohol too. Vice taxes are 100% re-allocated to school system. Having better schools is the long term strategy for improving the state.
I’m shocked anyone in 2024 still supports sin taxes.

Bc the vast majority of Louisiana politicians are Dems who switched parties in order to have a chance to win.
Talking to you as well Jeremy Lacombe.

That includes both our US Senators and our Governor. All started their careers as Democrats, and other than the letter next to their name, still are.

So, Louisiana essentially just legalized marijuana (excluding flower) in serving sizes less than 8mg?
