first-world problem for this week: how often do you clean the water reservoir in your Keurig coffee maker?
I have never been particularly comfortable with water sitting out for a week between fillings. I just found what looks like a little algae in the reservoir upon my weekly cleaning. I am ready to put this mother faker on the curb and find another way to brew coffee.

Empty the reservoir after every use you filthy animal.

I let it dry aut for a day between fillings...but apparently that is not good enough.

Buy the Keurig branded cleaning liquid and use it until the bottle is depleted.
Keep running water through into a transparent glass container until it's debris free.
Do it about every three months.
Makes a big difference.
And no Kuerig doesn't suck as long as one buys good carts.

Take out the charcoal filter and run the reservoir trough the dishwasher. For many automatic traditional brewers, that’s not even possible.

Week? Mine gets used every day and water never sits. Toss it in the dishwasher once or twice a week.

Cycle vinegar through it. Then dump the extra out. Run about 6 cups of water through it to totally get rid of the vinegar taste/smell.

We never run into problem with using distilled H2O. Then again we have to refill every other day so I guess nothing has chance to grow.

I've never owned a Keurig.
But I will brew vinegar about once a month in my coffeemaker to kill bacteria.

Run white vinegar they it, add water to the vinegar and run it again, add water run it again. Then, fresh water they there until nothing smells like vinegar.

I run vinegar through mine, and then flush with water after. Works like a charm.
