The gator has the physical advantage but if that dragon gets a single bite in that gator is done. He'll back off and follow it until its decaying alive. But dragons aint crossing no gators. Maybe a croc. I love NatGeo, animal planet and science.

What is interesting is the Komodo dragon is a relative of a mosasaur (aquatic reptile in Jurassic World). So they sorta had similar habitats kinda.

You do know that Jurassic World was only a movie.

The Earth is like six thousand-odd years old.

Crocodiles and alligators have some of the best immune systems in the animal kingdom. Scientists have infected their tissue with some of the nastiest bacterias known and their bodies isolate and destroy it. It's impressive.

This along with the dragon struggling to bite through the gators hide makes it a no contest.

Gator destoys dragon.

Friggin 18 ft Salty.

Thank God I don't live in Africa, Australia, or S. Asia. After seeing what those things can do to a wildebeest... I'd never EVER go near the water.

The Salty has got to be the baddest predator on the planet. And that's including lions, Great Whites and Killer Whales.

Don't sleep on the Komodo dragon. They can eat very large prey
Large water buffalo, deer, carrion, pigs and even humans.

When I was in 5th grade, we had to pick a reptile to do a project on. I chose the Komodo dragon off the list because I saw "dragon" and thought it was bad arse.
Just looking at it, I suspected it only ate plants, bugs and maybe very small animals. But I was shocked to see that it could eat big arse animals. Maybe not a gator... But you never know.

Dragons have some of the nastiest bacteria in the animal world along with the fact that they're also venomous. They're more agile than croc and and they can stand up on their hind legs.

Doubt me? You need to read more.

Pectus knows this. All geologists know this.

It's bad for business to admit it so they keep it a secret.

1) Gators can survive having legs and tails bitten off while living in stagnant water. They have a tremendous ability to fight off bacteria and infection.

2) Gators like dragons also feed on rotting and decayed meat and have a built in tolerance for the bacteria associated with it.

3) Dragons teeth have developed to bite and tear nasty wounds into the soft meaty tissue of animals and wouldn't be as effective against the skin of a gator.

False. Previously thought, but they were wrong. IIRC their mouths are no more dirty than an average human's.
