Judicial override can happen in some states. Not sure if Idaho is one though.

Only 4 states had it w/3 outright abolishing it in Florida, Alabama, and Indiana. Delaware had it on the books as well but I don't think any attempt has been made to use it since 2016 when the Supreme Court struck that down via Hurst v Florida.

Judges reject plea bargains often. Including Idaho where a judge can reject a plea agreement for various reasons, including not finding the agreement to be in the best interest of justice

Yeh a couple have spoken. Right now I think it is a sorority sister and she is kinda going off on him and basically said you are a wannabe and you were never gonna be cool.

At then end the sister said had you not done this in the middle of the night like some pedophile she would have kicked your fricking arse.

Kaylee’s sister is nailing him big time. Calling him a nothing and stupid. She’s tough. Good for her! She deserved the applause.

That was her older sister. She didn’t hold back especially at the end.

No doubt. She's tee'ing off on him. I'm glad she's showing such strength.

Maybe someone in prison will take care of him

I saw a video with his accommodations. They're as nice as you can get. He gets a safe, private cell with 3 meals a day, a tablet with email and other entertainment, a private cable TV, an hour of outdoor exercise a day, and probably library time as well.

This sick incel will get to live out his days alone like he was going to anyway, but with all his needs taken care of and free time to do whatever he wants.

A judge cannot reject a plea and sentence the individual to death under their own decision/power. The decision to impose death must come from a jury.

The Goncalves family didn't hold back. They got away with as much as they could. I don't know if it affected him at all, but it would seem that pointing out his failures, stupidity and how quickly he was identified has to bother him. He thought he'd committed the perfect crime as indicated by his selfie with the thumbs up right after the murders.
