re: Know anyone with a mail order bride?

I know a guy who's wife is from the Philippines and she is an absolute smoke show. He's never said anything and I've never asked, but she definitely looks "made to order".

One thing I failed to mention in the OP, his mail order bride has more money than he does. He just bought his first small condo. He’s been paying rent for 30 years.

So he, more than likely sends them money, and all they have to do is put up with him for 2 weeks out of the year? Sounds like a good deal on their end.

What kind of guy is he? The type who has to do this to get laid? I'm at a loss as to why someone would do this for 2 weeks out of the year

I worked at a bank right out of college. Older guy, probably mid 60's if i had to guess, comes in and wants to wire some money to the Philippines. Said he married this lady over there a few months ago. Shows me wedding pics.I asked some indirect questions and the dude swore it was legit. Said she was going to be moving over in the next FIVE YEARS after her kids grow up. Wired the money. he left.

About 6 weeks later, dude comes in and he's got chicken pox lookin stuff all over his face. Said he got back from over there about a week earlier and "must've gotten into something." Wired like another $2,500 over to this lady to help pay for some medical bills. Poor guy said his kids were mad at him because he was blowing through his retirement (their inheritance) but he loved this lady.

I got a better job and left the bank. Think about that poor ol boy from time to time.

i'd imagine some of those women dont mind if they get here and are well taken care of. fulfilling the wife duties (sexual activities of weird guys who can get laid on their own) is a small price to pay to get out of their current situations. i know all women are superficial but i would imagine its worse for american women. most of them would probably end up in arranged marriages anyway. if your going to be married to someone you dont want to be, might as well be in the best country on earth.

I have a patient who is a correctional officer. Late fifties, divorced with grown kids, ugly looking super fat guy. He went over to the Philippines and got a 30 year old several years ago and then has arranged for at least 10 of his correctional officer buddies to go over there and get wives. The wives all hang together now.
