How many fights has Kirk seen on the field? Dozens, hundreds? He whined like a little bitch after a fight in the MSU/Tulsa game in 2021.

USA Today Story.

Imagine being an overweight, living my high school life again “travel ball coach” seeking donations to travel to Florida for the 8000th national championship series!!

Being an overweight dad not involved in your kids sports as he bats cross handed in rec ball is so much better!!!

Extreme generalizations are fun

I’m one of the few people on here that’s actually gotten off their arse and tried to coach rec baseball in recent years

8u. My experience is below

It was horrific. I’ll make the same post I have many times

75% of the parents didn’t help for shite. They used it as babysitting.

2 of my kids on my team were on the spectrum

A few others at least tried but couldn’t walk and hold a bat at the smash time

3 kids could actually play

Make sure you get that “winter season” payment in for whatever travel ball team you are running.

I see how you ran in here like Jesse Owens when an extreme generalization was used against rec ball

I don’t have kids

But was working in an office during my training during travel ball tryout season in BR in an office of mom’s with kids going through it.

I feel like it’s the moms who really fuel this shite. Why?

Because it causes drama. And women love nothing more than drama.

Whose kid is on what team. What coach knows who. Why some picks are bad and why some are good. Who doesn’t deserve their spot. Speculating on the politics of why a kid got what spot.

And they talk about this shite like their kid is Aaron Judge or Randy Johnson. No. Your little boy is going to play baseball until maybe senior year of high school and that’s it.

Never underestimate the ability for a middle aged housewife to make something out of nothing to fill in the monotony of their lives.

Hi. Travel ball coach here…

You fricking nailed it. I’ve only been doing this for about 5 years now, and it’s crazy how it works. Take any 10 issues I’ve had over the years, and 9/10 of those issues were started by parents. It’s absolutely insane how people just love drumming up drama for no reason by either (a) talking shite about people they have no business talking shite about or (b) talking shite about something they know nothing about

It’s absolutely insane how adults insist on ruining a kids game

Wonder how many non travel ball kids, from anywhere, made LSU’s team the last 10 years? I don’t know of any.

LSUs entire roster is made up of travel ball kids?

If they are playing one weekend in Indiana then one weekend in Atlanta, it’s probably a high level showcase team and that makes sense. Really no different than the babe Ruth all star teams we played on 30 years ago.

When I think of toxic “travel ball culture”, it’s the 8U AA coach pitch teams that play one weekend in Metairie, then a weekend in Chalmette, then a weekend in Denham Springs, and cap it off playing in a World Series in Gulfport

Travel ball os a waste of time and money for 99% of the families that do it. Money would be better spent on batting coaches.

Don’t tell the Lake Charles guys this. They think you need to be in t-ball travel ball and have a lifting and stretching routine at age 3 if you want to play at Barbe

Braves Hall of Famer, Tom Glavine also rightfully trashed travel ball as well.

Same for me. But now kids are so over scheduled that it’s harder and harder to find those pick up games. I don’t know how you turn back the clock without some sort of major, major recession.

“How else is Brackxtynn going to get any playing time over Lil'Jon'Tre'Tavious without travel ball“

As long as he has more oven mitts and keg and elbow protection than lil Jon, he’ll get more playing time.

that dude seems to have emotional problems. He was crying over blacks getting roughed up by police when they came back on the air after George Floyd died, and he had to have that Great Pyrennees dog with him last year at all games like he had social anxiety. The dog died mid season and the following week he busted out crying on gameday
